The first review on the Amazon website is mine (the one with the vegetarian meatloaf recipe in it). I've only used it to make meatloaf but I absolutely love it. It reminds me very much of the (real) meatloaf my mom made when I was a kid. If you have used Bob's Redmill TVP, this is similar but the chunks are mostly larger, the texture is more like real ground beef, and the flavor is significantly better than Bob's.

Everyone trying to make vegetables look and taste like meat, yet no one trying to make meat look and taste like vegetables. Hmm

I really like this stuff. I recommend adding amino acids and yeast extract to add more beef flavor. I make a very good "beef" stew with the stew vegetables. I add a bit of each, 5 cups of water, ingredients above, garlic, a "beef" bullion cube, misses dash, garlic, sunflower oil and then pressure cook for 10 minutes.

Augason Farms Vegetable Stew Blend 2 lbs 0.5 oz No. 10 Can https://a.co/d/a0iY2Vr

it's 55 percent off, $15.70

Yeast extract is another name for MSG
Nutritional yeast is a whole-cell inactive yeast that contains both soluble and insoluble parts, which is different from yeast extract. Yeast extract is made by centrifuging inactive nutritional yeast and concentrating the water soluble yeast cell proteins which are rich in glutamic acid, nucleotides, and peptides, the flavor compounds responsible for umami taste

Msg = Monosodium glutamate

Those are different ingredients with different propos.

Bad and not worth.
If u buy dehydrated soy will be healthier and cheaper than that fake meat.
U can hydrate the same way and "cook" your meat as u want.

Also, use nutritional yeast instead of yeast extract...better taste and nutritional values.

My preferred way to eat it is with taco seasoning. I don't enjoy it plain as it kinda has a dust flavor going on with no added seasoning. I have been meaning to try a 50/50 with hamburger but I haven't gotten around to it. I think it would mix well and the texture would match up pretty spot on

Imo, it's more complicated. Meat taste "good" because of evolution and our bodies crave that nutrition. That's why vegetables are an acquired taste and kids love chicken nuggets

False.

Did you just laugh at your own joke? ...that's just weird.

Use moderation in all things if you're worried about your health. If you eat only one type of anything it's unhealthy, common sense.
