Over the years I have owned mostly cheap luggage and on one occasion higher end luggage.
I traveled by air and cruise ship carrying bottles of wine sandwiched between layers of clothes and even a 16 pack of beer.
My cheap luggage never failed.
Over time I found the hard material used as a backer that makes the bottom / back of the luggage stuff would deteriorate.
I learned the more you pay the heavier the shell material (usually).
I also learned the cheap Walmart luggage has faults in the handle on telescoping handles ("pilot" style) that can punch the crap out of your fingers when collapsing it.
I still have that Walmart case and just learned to be careful.
If you are going on a trip or vacation yearly this set will do right by you.
If you are touring Europe for a month these may not look so great at the end but they will live to go on your next adventure.
I always liked American Tourister.

Are these international compliant for United and ANA?

How is it dealing with Samsonite for returns? Not sure if it was this company or another, but I'm fairly certain I saw a comment within the last few weeks from another SDer that claimed Samsonite makes it difficult to do warranty claims. Something like having to pay the shipping yourself and that's expensive

This is the only brand I have ever used. When Samsonite sets were $300 and these were $99, the AT set is an affordable and good alternative. In recent years Samsonite sets can be had for $150 - $200 during holiday sale, the AT sets aren't as attractive.

Structurally, AT luggage will hold up to abuse. My current set is at least 5 yo and I travel 2-3 times a year. Depending on how much the airline abuse the luggage, the wheels will start to have their own mind, and they won't roll as well as when it was new in spinner position; but still manageable. I suppose I could lube the wheels to help them roll better.

Are you sure? Not sure about the small size, but the description shows the large is under 62".

I have travelled with them on Southwest, AA, and Delta. They have never rejected my check-in and carry-on. I don't really use the mid size.

I've had a set similar to this from American Tourist for 6 years now. Still perfectly fine. No rips, wheel damage, or zipper faults. My family is currently overseas with them, 8th round trip for the bigger bags. ~50+ for carry on

??. A company keeps manufacturing the wrong sized luggages? Do you really think that?

Yes. Keep in mind you can use luggage to travel in other means than air (car, train, etc.) which is why I imagine they still manufacture the 29" model. But I recently bought it and had to return it because the total dimensions are 64" which is 2" more than allowable. JetBlue charges $150 for oversized luggage so I wasn't about to pay (or worse, worry about paying) $300 per round trip. I'd advise against buying these if using to travel via airplane.

So dimensions mentioned on Amazon are wrong for 29" ?
