We bought a similar whirlpool 4 years ago from Costco and we think our one circuit board is going. We have had to reset the dishwasher twice (at the fuse box) and it randomly makes beeping sounds. The part is $110 on Amazon and the repair on YouTube seems manageable.

But no idea if it's worth the repair or buying a new one.
We like the dishwasher, especially the third rack. But disappointed it only lasted 4 years.
My GE is doing the exact same thing... worst dishwasher I've ever owned. I could go on and on about the problems with it and I'm not alone when I look at the reviews. If it wasn't for the slate color to match everything else, it wouldn't have been in my house this long... never go with a proprietary appliance color or you'll be stuck with expensive junk.

I found out more than I wanted to know about dishwashers during this ordeal. A bad diverter seal is a common issue and fortunately a pretty easy fix. Top 2 causes of leaks are float switches and diverter seals. Both are fixable yourself.
The number one "leak" issue for my GE is a horrible design - it's vents the drying cycle out the bottom of the door toward the floor. Which condenses into a puddle on the floor every time. I thought the door itself was leaking, even changed the seal, until I figured out it was just a bad design. Thankfully, I have a tile floor - wood would have been destroyed by now.

Third rack sucks if you have big plates. Our house came with a dw with a third rack and we ended up replacing it because our plates, and anything else tall, would just get hit by 2nd rack sprayer and our dishes and didn't come out that clean.

Did you try adjusting the middle rack. All the models we've had (including our current one & this model) have an adjustable 2nd rack.

I've always had good luck with Whirlpool appliances except for dishwashers. The racks are metal and coated with some cheap crap that comes off and the racks rust and the pins fall off, usually they start rusting within a year. The racks cost an arm and a leg to replace so not worth it. I bought a Bosch 5 years ago. It was only a few bucks more and has been stellar to a Whirlpool in every way. The racks are nylon and as good as the day I bought it. The highest rated one is also the cheapest one on Consumer Reports. So my suggestion is to spend $70 more and get the Bosch. And for the record, I thought the Bosch was all hype. It wasn't.
Which Bosch are you talking about exactly? And from what store?

Not sure, but this is what I found on the internet: "The entire interior of the dishwasher, including its first and second racks, is made of high-quality stainless steel to resist rust and corrosion. Plus, it has a nice-looking stainless-steel finish that matches the rest of your KitchenAid appliances." I'd go look at one first and make certain that's a fact.
I have a kitchenaid with the third rack and interior light. I had the top of the line Bosch before and it was absolute garbage in my opinion. It never cleaned well and used their "air dry" method that essentially never really worked well. The kitchenaid was my replacement and wow, I can honestly say I would never go back. I bought a kitchenaid once before on Slickdeals long ago when lowes messed up and had them for 67 dollars… it was the best until we sold the house. I'm looking at the whirlpool today for my parents because I'm trying to go less expensive. But, if it was for me, I'd spend the money on kitchenaid. It's the premium line of whirlpool and you get what you pay for….

I bought a similar model but in Nov 2020 from BJs for 599 USD on sale. One of the good things about this dishwasher is its really silent operation esp. at the start that sometimes i have to check if it is really on...

Other than that, I totally agree with you. Apparently detergent and occassional vinegar + baking soda combo (for maintenance) caused the plastic on the rails corrode and break within 20 months.
In the below diagram https://www.genuinereplacementpar...0xauto.jpg it is basically what the washer sits on. It broke on the left side causing the rack to tilt up front

For me I had to replace the adjustor assembly. The replacement adjustor cost me 45$ + taxes + shipping n Appliance Part Pros and with the tech visit and labor + taxes came to around 320$.
https://www.appliancepartspros.co...57560.html
But the local tech I hired told me that he is replacing it with a "Steel" based assembly rather than Plastic based as he had seen complains with other ppl too on corrosion. Shame on Whirlpool for cheapening on this.

Since I had the BJs Extended Plan and they were unable to send a technician, they asked me to invoice the charges/claims as long as it was within the sale price 599$.

Since I brought this bcos my old DW gave way during Covid year, my choices were limited. Not a Costco but aa BJs member, WP was the only choice. Other retailers like BB, HD, Lowes etc were charging 175$ - 200$ for delivery, removal, new installation, delivery and haul away. And delivery date was like 1 + month for many models and each were 700$ + with Bosch close to 850$ making the overall Protection Plan price with taxes nearly 1200$.

So my advice to people who buy this. Please add 4 year warranty provided by Wholesale club/retailer as I do have questions on longetivity of the plastics in it...

You might be talking about a particular model which is not very popular. I bought Bousch 500 series from Lowes last month and it was delivered in 3 days.
I bought a Bosch 800 about 6 months ago. Everyone online was saying the same thing. I walked into an appliance shop that just got 13 of them that week. Originally was going to get a cheaper KitchenAid base model that was going to take 3 weeks to come in. Ended up just switching to the Bosch 800. So yeah, if one place says it'll take awhile, go somewhere else.
