anyone got any experience between the 9th gen and this 10th gen? 9th can be had at $269 +tax from Walmart I believe. 10th gen worth the extra $130 ? Asking because my 7th gen suddenly just stopped booting, was going in a boot loop, so tried update, restore, etc, nothing's worked. Got a friend looking at it but not hopeful. only a bit more than 3 years old. Probably going to pony up for a new one, but thinking 9th gen is the better deal?

$250 vs $400 on sale pricing @costco. if you're doing content consumption the 9th gen is perfectly fine. if you need more power, most people opted in for the air instead which have been on sale at $499. Go to costco/best buy and play around.

I happened have this 10th gen from the organization. I would say it is solid upgrades from 9th, but if you considering price point then put little extra $ for iPad air. Really nothing is wrong for newer display, usb-c, camera updates and position tracking feature(center stage) on 10th gen, could have better if they came out with compatible price.

Thanks. I guess my other worry is if the next one is going to crap out on me after only a little over 3 years as well... Googling my issue shows quite a few out there having same problem; some have success getting it back to life, others not so much. Trips to Apple Store don't sound like they yield any results other than being told to buy a new one. I dislike a disposable world.

thanks , hadn't quite seen that Costco $250 price. appreciate it.
Power isn't the concern between gen 9 and 10 (i just bought a 10 from apple because Costco didn't have the 256 model in gen 10), they are both totally fine. The issue is the charging port, 10 is USB C. Since the phones are almost certainly switching this year to USB C, I didn't want the oddball. Already had that happen on 3 when then moved from the 30 pin to lightning mid generation and it was a PITA.
Apple's pricing of the base iPad has really put it in an awkward place. The 9th at $250 is way good enough for Web surfers, emailers, Facetimers, and video watchers. This 10th is priced too close the superior Air above it. Apple better lower the price.

Minor consideration but worth it to me.
