Figures sleazy Gamestop dropping values for everything as soon as it gets posted here
Slimeballs dropped the console values -$44, cancelling out the $40 extra
So basically GameStop tricking people and ripping them off when they could gotten more before this promo???🤔
I tried to trade in my Series S earlier tonight and was offered $188.50 for it. I was like uhh the website says $192.50 and there should be a $40 extra credit on top of that. Manager said the $40 is included in the $188.50. Sometimes their system doesn't update for a day or two with the new promos, but still...I took it back home and might try again later in the week.

On a semi-related note - I was at my local Gamestop today for this, and it seems that there have been negative changes to the reward redemption for Xbox (and Switch, the employee said) gift cards/codes starting this month. I usually redeem my reward each month for a free $5 receipt-printed code for MS/Xbox. Today the employee tried it and it wouldn't work, and he said that they had received an email regarding the changes. I had to buy a $10 code to get $5 off of it, like it has been for a while when using the code online (i.e. you can't check out with a 0 balance online). Last month I was able to go through the regular routine with the code in store/online. Bummer if it sticks.

At least you can still use the reward for GCs....it's not that bad to me...
I collected a lot of Nintendo eshop GCs 50% off for the last year when I still had my Pro membership. Now I have more than I need I discontinued my Pro membership in late 2022... I plan to use up most if not all of those GC balance on Zelda BOTW 2 this summer if it drops on time.
Don't quite understand this comment (I'm not the gamer, it is my son). Do you mean Ultra 4k player for streaming media, or for playing physical discs (do people really buy non-gaming content on physical media anymore???).
They mean it plays 4K blu-ray discs. Yes, people still buy movies in physical format. Streaming compresses the content. A 4K blu-ray can play up to 128 mb/s whereas the max stream would be about 40 mb/s (although most are in the 20-30 range)

Thanks for the response. I wanted to be clear why you valued keeping it. I have this horrible habit of hanging on to hardware well beyond its useful date. I don't have physical media to play (and if I did, I'd rip it to a lossless file on my computer and put it into my media server anyway), so this is better in the hands of a gamer in want.

I keep my Gears 5 XB1X as a 4K blu-ray player in another room. It's not a great player, but it gets the job done.

Makes sense. I don't have physical media anymore. And as I mentioned, if I did want to purchase physical media my computer is capable to ripping them to lossless files (.mkv is my preference) and then I'd add them to my on-site htpc which services several tv's around the house all wired via. CaT 6.
So my son's old xbox one belongs in somebody else's hands.

Not terrible but also trashy since they sold the memberships claiming that you could redeem the $5 each month for digital currency on Xbox and Nintendo, so at the very minimum they should be refunding the cost of membership.
So you have to buy a $10 code to redeem the $5 Pro reward - can that be done online or it has to be done in-store?

Although this month a rep said eshop pulled all $5 cards. Not sure if it was temporary or for good.
Gamestop clerk told me they were notified by corporate.

Um, my guy, the series s was never $376 even with tax and most likely was bought at the SD price of 200

I applied last month because I thought it would work online. GameStop is too far from me for this to be worthwhile.
