But CFG Bank has limits according to their website:
Once funding occurs the daily external transfer limit for the CFG High Yield Money Market Account is $5,000. Your external transfers may not exceed $30,000 in a 30-day rolling period.

I'm getting tired of moving my money around chasing the APY. They should be coming up again after tomorrow's FED meeting too.

Nope, usually paid out within a few business days.

FDIC official website has a section for concernicus folks like you specifically:

Typically these type deals require 15 checkcard purchases and one direct deposit...does this particular one?

This is a great rate. Will be opening an account after I purchase I-bonds on treasury for any left over cash.

The checking account seems arguably more interesting too, usually easier to move funds around.

Will this bank drop the rate to very low after 6 or 12 months etc? then I have to move money again?

If FED raise the rate, how many days afterwards can we expect banks to raise the rate for savings account/CDs?
I'm guessing the same as you - this is a teaser rate, perhaps to get many new accounts, then sell this bank to a larger bank :-)

I'd love to read more details from existing customers, before making the leap :-)

I opened SallieMae 27 month CD vi savebetter for 5%.
I wish someone offer same rate for 5 or 10 yr
I looked at Savebetter and couldn't figure out how the FDIC insurance (which isn't with SaveBetter, but covers deposits at SallieMae) would work if SaveBetter messed up. SaveBetter pools multiple clients' money into "basket" style CDs at SallieMae, right?

Now Wynona took her big brown beaver
And she stuck him up in the air
Said, "I sure do love this big brown beaver
And I wish I did have a pair."
Now the beaver once slept for seven days
And it gave us all an awful fright
So I tickled his chin, and I gave him a pinch
And the bastard tried to bite

Get money back when..2 years?
Within a week for the replacement bank to take over, typically. Here's an episode of NPR's Planet Money/This American Life podcast from back in 2009 during [npr.org] the financial crisis. It was typically in a few days.

FDIC hasn't had to do this process since 2020 [fdic.gov].

There were only 12 failed banks where the FDIC could not find a bank to takeover since 2000 (all in the 2010-2013 range) (Search for no acquirer on this page [fdic.gov]). Covered depositors had checks mailed. Even then, the FDIC found banks to take over direct deposit responsibility for Social Security and Veterans benefits for those banks.

I use Enzo.

www.joinenzo.com

I like them. No nonsense and their account is checking too! The only complaint I have is they do a poor job of updating some of their documentation and there is no phone support. That said, their email support has come through within hours for me usually and no more than 1-business day.

That's my experience.

Doesn't seem worth it anymore as the rate is already down below 7%, and then there are limitations on withdrawal. On top of that, inflation is dropping so rates should be even worse going into the future.

I'm planning an exit strategy.

Redneck Bank is pretty good if you stay below 75K. They are always near the top.
What $75k comes from? FDIC insures $250K for individual account or $500K for jointed account

People should read the details. MySavingsDirect requires 60 day advance written notice of any intended withdrawal before you can get your funds. These guys look like a regular bank, and probably won't have such crazy restrictions.
I've had my savings direct for years. Nonissue ever to pull out all my money… because I did it last time the rates started to fall

Or accounts with beneficiaries on them. They get up to $250k FDIC insurance as well
