Dang. I really wanted one of these when they cane out but it sold out. I ended up buying the Pokémon OLED Switch but don't like it as much as the Splatoon one.

Haven't these been sold out for months? I wish they'd make another Splatoon Pro controller too

My goodness why does every Nintendo deal have to include fanboys(one way or the other)?

Believe it or not people can enjoy more than one system. Sony exclusives suck? Wow. Both systems cater to different types of gamers. I'll go months where I only play animal crossing and Zelda and then play tlou or yakuza games for a few months. The more choices the better. Gaming would be pretty boring with only one company and no competition.

I really wanted this to be black instead of the white version as a base. If they could have done one similar to this but Metroid themed using black as a base I would have bought a couple. I don't really play Splatoon but the colors and gradient look great.

My opinion on buying a switch this late in it's life is that it's hardware is so insanely outdated - as it should be given how old it is - to the point where the steam deck can emulate a good amount of switch games flawlessly on top of having access to pc games,where you'll practically never pay full msrp for unless you just buy things as they come out.

I agree it's important for people to consider where the Switch is in it's lifespan. Nintendo is likely to announce the successor to the Switch later this year, or early next year with a fall 2024 expected release. On the other hand, Nintendo is increasing the production of the current Switch for this year so they still think the system has some steam left in it (or maybe a price reduction is coming). I have not seen a reliable emulator for the switch (but I could be wrong) but since many switch games are ported from Wii U, those are emulated very easily.
I think it really comes down to the games. Put emulation aside, the Switch has a large collection of exclusive RPGs as well as the first-party titles many people love. As for myself, the last Nintendo console I owned was an N64. So all the games ported to the switch from those consoles after N64 are basically new games to me. I'll also add that Fire Emblem Engage is probably the best game I've played in the last 10 years.
Combine all that with that fact that the next Nintendo console may not even play switch games and there are still some compelling reasons to buy a switch.
Then again, I bought my switch used for $200, and then sold my switch lite for $100, which made it a much easier pill for me to swallow.

I have this and I love it! I know its just a different skin, but it is the OLED model so I upgraded from the og Switch for this. The Joy cons really are the best color available, but I still hate them! I use the Pro controller mostly. They do make attachments to make the joycons more usable, but the damn buttons are just too small for my liking. Definite buy if youre a collector or Splatoon mega fan, but Id hold out for the potential Zelda model if youre on the fence. Having said that, if the Zelda model is real Ill be doubling dipping!

I believe it's the MSRP and fair. I don't like that they're $10 more than the regular OLED model. But that's just me.
