I know everyone talks about the crucial MX500, but read on Reddit that it hasn't been as reliable lately. Asked a fellow SDer for a budget and reliable drive for a PC and was told to look into WD and inland drives.
This WD Blue drive has been the lowest ever on Amazon according to camelcamelcamel at 119.99 + tax. The previous lowest price was last week at 134.99 + tax.

I would note, I do seem to have one of the Crucial MX500 lemons from the bad batch. It's installed in my laptop and seems to have corrupted some of the OS files a month ago so I need to get around to troubleshooting that or RMA. Rather disappointing since I rarely use my laptop so it seems to be a very early failure. Even the garbage OEM SSD (~2014) that came with my laptop was running fine previously. I assume the issues were addressed since I don't see widespread complaints still.
