Direct Tools Outlet has the factory blemished RIDGID 18V Brushless 21 Degree 3-1/2" Framing Nailer on sale for $175 plus $15 shipping. The tool qualifies for RIDGID 3 year warranty and LSA.
Product Details
RIDGID introduces the 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 21° 3-1/2 in. Framing Nailer. Paired with any RIDGID 18V battery, this framing nailer provides all the power of a pneumatic nailer, but with the convenience of cordless freedom. With no compressor, no hose, and no gas cartridge, this cordless framing nailer enables faster set-up and easier maneuvering on the jobsite. The RIDGID 18V Brushless 21° Framing Nailer drives 3 nails per second with no gas cartridges and zero ramp-up time, meaning that there are no delays once the trigger is pulled. To meet all professional needs, the high-strength brushless motor in this framing nailer delivers enough power to sink 2 in. to 3-1/2 in. full round head framing nails into engineered lumber. Brushless Motor Technology delivers more runtime, more power, and longer motor life, and the ability to drive up to 750 nails per charge to keep residential contractors and remodelers focused on the job at hand.

And I have a deck to build within the next 60 days.
I've no complaints with mild use of the nailer so far, and it's got the LSA.
Anyone know if weight, performance on rigid outperforms metabo?
Thought of getting metabo as Hitachi tools were good and I would get one more battery added to the system.
Keep an eye on DTO. I picked up a Ryobi brad nailer for $35 in December.
ETA I just went ahead and bought one. It'll be worth it if it makes the job a bit easier. I've built a couple smaller sheds before but mostly used screws.
Just more reasons to build more stuff , always better to have than not

Bought it in store.
I know Makita works on ridgid and Ryobi with an adapter.

Having all of my tools on one battery system really makes things convenient. Not a tradesperson, just an avid DIY'r. Always lots of building projects happening on my property, which means the tools get a lot of use.

Last deck I built was mostly through bolts and joist hangers which required their own special nails. Screws on the decking... Maybe a dozen fasteners on the ends of the joists but it's hardly worth purchasing a nailer. Unless of course one is just fishing for a reason to buy a tool, which I wholeheartedly support. I have a full compliment of pneumatic nailers (15, 16, 20 gauge, framing, crown stapler, coil roofing) and have replaced all but the roofing and crown stapler with battery powered because of "projects". I also replaced a plug in drywall gun with a battery one. I find it much easier to slip some tool purchases by the wife if I "need it for a project" but you can definitely build a deck without this nailer. Then again, I could walk to work, but I'll take my car every day.
