I totally agree. If HD had an issue with people "hacking" these deals they would simply sell it as a bundle and wouldn't give people the option. They are a huge multinational corporation who employ teams of people on a corporate level to strategically coordinate these types of sales.
We have seen them do bundles that couldn't be hacked in the past and I guarantee they continue to offer hackable deals because they sell more product overall with these types of sales.
Many brands keep tight control on the prices their products can be sold at, this is likely a way for Home Depot to "hack" their sales prices as much as it also helps the consumer. No body is hurting from this situation. Don't feel bad, they are still getting your money.

once we add the battery + the free tool, both have their own discounted price, if i were to pick 1 up from one store and never pickup the battery, would they still charged for the full amount or they wont charge anything at all until i pick up the battery?
