I confirmed this with their chat as well:
Yes, it looks like a misprint in the promo details. I think they meant to write this in the promo terms (taken from the S23/S23+ promo terms):
"If you do not currently have Fi service and your last day of Fi service took place within the last 180 days as part of an existing single subscriber or group plan, you must also bring/transfer your number to Fi within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email. Numbers ported in must be from carriers that have calling, voice and data services. Fi-to-Fi number transfers are not eligible."

It looks like the S23 Ultra promo terms are missing the first part of that paragraph which makes it confusing.

I spoke to their support as well, they confirmed it is a misprint and they are working on updating the terms for the S23 Ultra promo.... no ETA on when it will be updated though.

Google fi uses the t-mobile and US Cellular networks, so in theory it should be compatible with both networks.
Can you clarify that when the 120 days are over, let's say, and the phone is unlocked, will the phone work on any tower, ie Verizon as well? Thanks

Google FI sold phones are Unlocked out-of-the-box, so can be used with any carrier from Day 1 (at least this was true with S22 Series and Fold4/Flip4).

To keep the discount
  1. The Google Fi SIM card should be activated on the device you purchased from Google Fi.
  2. The number should be ported and then you can remove the Google Fi SIM card and keep it in a drawer if you want to use the new device with another carrier.
  3. Ensure NOT to put the Google Fi SIM in any other device (at least for 120 days). It can go back to the same device, but not to any other devices.
  4. Keep paying for Google Fi services for 120 Days.

All Google Fi phones come as factory unlocked. The day you receive the new S23 you can port your service into it as eSIM (of course depends on carriers) so you now have two numbers on the new phone. Just keep the Google Fi's physical SIM in the new phone for 120 days to avoid charge back

Does anyone know if the deal is available for exsisting Fi customers too? Same $600 off S23 Ultra. Can we do the BB trick and buy Fi sim at store activate and then sign up to Fi for S23U and only stay for 30 days instead of 120 days?

Is it a hard requirement that the Google Fi sim cannot go into another device?
My GF want to switch carrier and she's an iPhone user, while I don't want to switch carrier, but I want this phone. So I want to let her port in the # but keep using her iPhone 14, while I get the S23 Ultra, will it workable for this promo?
