Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I use one line per account. Fi doesn't care if you have multiple accounts with same name, shipping address, credit card, etc.
If I am planning to order two phones it's better to do them in two different accounts? When I do two accounts, can my second account use the referral from the first account?

Yes absolutely. Just put any number for now for order if you don't have the real one yet.
Can I enter any random number, or does Google Fi send a text to verify that number? I was going to enter a random number but that won't work if Google Fi sends a text. I plan on purchasing a number on eBay but it won't be able to receive a text either. I can use my actual number as long as it doesn't lock me into actually porting it to Google Fi.

So, just need to use a google voice phone # to sign-up for new Google Fi service, then when I get my new phone, I put in my verizon sim. Then put the google Fi SIM in my old phone. and have two phones until 120 days? Pay $20/month for 4 months for Google Fi? What about just having GoogleFI create a new number for me?
* Do NOT use the Fi SIM in another phone. Either leave it in the Fi phone or remove it and stash it away.
* You seem to skip the step of activating the Fi SIM which comes pre-installed in the Fi phone. Download the Fi app to the Fi phone and run it to activate the Fi SIM.
* You're a new Fi member so you have to port-in a number that you own. You cannot have Fi create a new number for you.

I hate to say it, but you don't seem to pay attention to what we posted. I think you're going to mess up your Fi deal.

You'll be risking the promotion.
Not true. You can change the port-in info anytime before activation. If fact, if you have problems porting in a number at activation, you can pick another port-in number and provide the info to the rep that's helping you.

after 3 months i can port out my numbers from googleFi to a different carrier?
Yes, you can (after 4 months, not 3). Take a look at the info here: https://support.google.com/fi/ans...9398?hl=en

Tello has esim and they have $5 cheapest plan. So this looks like the best & no risk option for a port in.

If you use two accounts, the 2nd account can use the referral code of the 1st account. If I remember correctly, an account doesn't have a referral code to give out until its service has been activated. If I'm wrong on that, someone please correct me.

Since this promo doesn't favor existing member (besides not having to port in a number), having two lines in one account would save you some monthly cost, but on the other hand you lose $40 in referral credit ($20 for each end).

Wait for sometime. Samsung devalues their products quite aggressively. Looking at the past price trends, it's just a matter of time.

For 512GB S23 Ultra I doubt it will go anywhere lower than $599.

I am not a Fi customer, from below two options which one is better (risk, cost etc):

1. Buying a Fi sim from Bestbuy for $10, activate Fi plan ($10 credit applies in to account), become a Fi customer. Immediately order S23 with this promotion as a current Fi member.

2. Buy Tello esim, activate Tello number, Immediately port in Tello number to Fi and order S23 with this promotion as a new Fi member.

Any advice is appreciated.

I have an S22 and a Pixel 6a. I use the 6a as my daily, but I'm not sure why. Maybe because I'm pulling for more competition in the market. But I will tell you straight up that from build quality to user experience there are very few areas where the 6a comes out obviously ahead of the S22. I would nut up and buy the S23+.
I am actually an existing google fi customer and the deal is $499 for the Samsung Galaxy S23+ and $299 for the Samsung Galaxy S23. "Remain active and in good standing for 120 consecutive days." so that adds to the cost.

Even though I like a larger screen and improved battery life, is it worth the extra $200 over S23? An extra $100 is something I would spend. I never spent over $500 for any phone in my life. I always like $350 and less great deals on slickdeals.

I also have Samsung Galaxy S6 lite tablet and I rather use that at home than any large screen phone so maybe a large screen phone isn't as necessary as I perceive it to be. $299 seems more tempting. There is also the Samsung Galaxy A upper mid range phones with the large screen too. I did enjoy my A71 5G a lot. Save a lot. I really don't need the super powerful processor and amazing camera.

Just want to confirm, for people that doesn't plan use the Fi service and leave the Sim card on the shelf after activation. The total cost for the S23 is the following, correct?

$299 + tax + $20 x 4 months of service = $379 + tax - trade in value

Thanks.
