Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

My brother took the previous Google FI deal of the Fold4, and he still has 60 days remaining to keep the promo. He wants to go back to regular, not foldable phones, and is tempted by this deal, but he threw away the SIM card that came with the Fold4 and using it with his T-Mobile line. Does anyone know, if he does end up buying the S23 Ultra, but does not have the FI SIM card anymore, how can he activate it? Is it possible to get a new SIM card with the same previous FI number of the lost SIM?

It does sound like he has it rough, but I feel it is worth a shot asking

Are you sure, I thought it was $20 only if you want to port back from fi to voice at the end of the 120 days. It is $3 to unlock a Google Voice number
It does cost $20 to port in other carriers numbers into Google Voice, but it's actually free for Google Fi to Voice . I did that last year.

If your Voice number is on the same account as your Fi, it's also free to port from Voice to Fi. So you could go both ways for free.

I have 25 days left. I wonder what is the advantage of ordering as an existing customer if you have to stay for 120 days anyway. I would rather other from another account with referral from existing account. Atleast, I can get referral bonus. What do you think?
I don't know what offer new Fi members get. If it's no different than what existing members get, then order as a new member so you can use the referral code. For me, I'm ordering the S23 as an existing member because the account I'm ordering from has close to $100 in Fi credit from excess trade-in credit and the referrals I've made. Also, as an existing member with an active Fi Line you don't have to port-in a number.

Seems reasonable as long as you dont mind dealing with 2 accounts. Probably what I should have done if I didn't have credits that need to be burned.

It doesn't really matter where that sim is anyway.

Since he has 60 days left, If he buys the s23 ultra, he's going to void his fi deal on the fold4. You only have 30 days after shipment to activate the new phone. The phone will come with a new sim (or esim if they're doing the same thing they did with the fi pixels).

Setting aside the fact that your brother's Fold4 still have 60 days to fulfill, if he orders an S23 as an existing member with an active Fi Line, at activation service from his current Fi phone and its billing will be transferred to the S23. He does not need the Fi SIM from his current phone because it will not be a SIM swap. When he activates the S23 using the Fi app, it will say "Your current service is on another phone (the Fold4), do you want a transfer?". Reply YES and service & billing from the Fold4 will be transferred to the S23.

Since this promo is likely to last several more months, it's best for your brother to complete the required days for his Fold4 before ordering the S23.

This is completely different. Verizon is bill credits (aka modern day version of a contract) This is all up front.
If you don't plan on leaving your provider, no, it's not completely different.

The upfront stuff usually matters to people trying to get one over, jump ship left and right and so on. Many people have better things to do than plan out having the latest tech 24/7 by constantly trying to take advantage of various carrier deals.

New Buyer Be Aware!
If you had a previous S22 Ultra or like phone in the checkout before, be aware that if you click on the promo to buy the newer S23, google will resume your old purchase. My first time, thinking I need to purchase the S23 at full price then get the difference back, I ordered the S22 Ultra (same price as the new one). It wasn't until I went back and read some reddit comments stating that deal prices should be applied on the phone at checkout no matter what if you are a new user, that re-checked the phone into the cart that I saw it having the deal price. Lucky enough I was able to cancel the 1200 order and get the actual 23 ultra.
Side note: if you ordered anytime between now and so on, the EST of delivery is 23-25th of Feb.

So if i become a new fi subscriber buying a fi sim at bestbuy and activating on a spare unlocked phone instead of porting a #, will I get the special promo afterwards to buy the Galaxy S23 ultra at a discount? also does the 120 days of fi service rule still apply here?
120 day clock starts from the day S23 is activated. I did this with the Pixel 7 deal 2 months ago

Anyone know how they treat "existing" accounts that use this promotion. Will I have to stay with Fi for another 120 days, or is that only a requirement for new accounts?

This looks like a really good deal. I am currently using a Pixel 6a where I upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G. I went from a 6.7" screen to a 6.1" screen and the big screen is what I miss the most. This S23 also has a 6.1" screen so I will have to pass on this. I like the Pixel 6a but I definitely wish it had a large screen. Too bad the large screen flagship Samsung phones don't really get the big deals. I would even pay an extra $100 at $399 for the plus for larger screen and better battery life.

I like good battery life and seeing a 3,900mAh battery with a Qualcomm SM8550-AC Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor for the S23 is another concern for me. I really did enjoy my old Samsung Galaxy A71 5G so I am still going to put S23 or S23 Plus as a possible future upgrade. I still want to upgrade after 2 years though. 3 years would even be better.
I have an S22 and a Pixel 6a. I use the 6a as my daily, but I'm not sure why. Maybe because I'm pulling for more competition in the market. But I will tell you straight up that from build quality to user experience there are very few areas where the 6a comes out obviously ahead of the S22. I would nut up and buy the S23+.

The only term that might kick in is "cannot be combined with any other offer" - it's vague. This offer is for existing Fi customers, that one was for new Fi customers.

The 120 period for Fold4 ends in 4-10 days depending on when you ordered. Might be worth waiting, getting any clarity from Google is not going to happen.

If anyone still in a Fi promo does place an order, post back here and share what happens in the Billing -> Fi Savings page.

Offer ends Feb 16, so there is time. I'm going to wait until Fi Savings shows completed unless others confirm it's a non-issue.
I have 20 days left from Pixel 7 promo, I ordered S23U and it shows both promos actives and has not canceled the previous one.

You should be good to order and receive as long as you don't activate the new S23 before completing the previous promo terms.

Ordered for both of my lines, I suggest getting iPhones 111 from metropcs if you can got 2 for 260ish out of the door so making extra 150 off per phone this already slick price on new phones by trading in brand new phones lol.
