Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

If you use two accounts, the 2nd account can use the referral code of the 1st account. If I remember correctly, an account doesn't have a referral code to give out until its service has been activated. If I'm wrong on that, someone please correct me.

Since this promo doesn't favor existing member (besides not having to port in a number), having two lines in one account would save you some monthly cost, but on the other hand you lose $40 in referral credit ($20 for each end).
That's a bummer.

So are you saying If I do two lines under a group in one account I can only use external referral on the first line but can't use any referral (from first line or external) on the second line? If this is correct I think it's better to do two accounts and you two external referrals ($40).

I am not a Fi customer, from below two options which one is better (risk, cost etc):

1. Buying a Fi sim from Bestbuy for $10, activate Fi plan ($10 credit applies in to account), become a Fi customer. Immediately order S23 with this promotion as a current Fi member.

2. Buy Tello esim, activate Tello number, Immediately port in Tello number to Fi and order S23 with this promotion as a new Fi member.

Any advice is appreciated.
What do you get from tello method other than the hassle? Join fi then buy the phone with a referral code get 20 credit for yourself and hopefully me. Lol.

Wait for sometime. Samsung devalues their products quite aggressively. Looking at the past price trends, it's just a matter of time.

For 512GB S23 Ultra I doubt it will go anywhere lower than $599.
It's possible if they bring back those crazy enhanced trade in values. But nobody know if & when that will happen.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, there was an S22 deal where an existing member is only required to stay 30 days instead of 120 days for new members. In that situation, it was worth the risk to use a Best Buy SIM to become an existing member then ordered the Fi phone. The risk was some people didn't wait long enough (at least 48 hrs) to order the Fi phone, and when they activated the Fi phone it was shown as activated by a NEW MEMBER, which messed up their promo.

In this promo, there's no such benefit for an existing member, so I would use the Tello route or another route to get a number for port-in.

The promo code is tied to an account, not a line. So the 1st line can use a referral code from another account. But the 2nd line can't use ANYONE's code because that account already used a code. That's my understanding of it. I don't use multi-lines account, so if I'm wrong about that someone please correct me.

Numberbarn, ebay, Tello, Google voice. Can you rate in terms of low risk? which option do you suggest?

* Do NOT use the Fi SIM in another phone. Either leave it in the Fi phone or remove it and stash it away.
* You seem to skip the step of activating the Fi SIM which comes pre-installed in the Fi phone. Download the Fi app to the Fi phone and run it to activate the Fi SIM.
* You're a new Fi member so you have to port-in a number that you own. You cannot have Fi create a new number for you.

I hate to say it, but you don't seem to pay attention to what we posted. I think you're going to mess up your Fi deal.
Yeah, I don't get people like him just skipping the steps

I have used Google voice for the Google fi s22 plus deal without problem. I just ported out 1 week back .But for this deal I wouldn't use google voice as in promo terms it's mentioned "Numbers ported in must be from carriers that have calling, voice and data services. Fi-to-Fi number transfers are not eligible."

No if we look at last year's S22 record.
Yeah but I never upgraded to the s22 ultra so I shouldn't be getting as much trade in value.

Just want to confirm on this. The port info is collected at the time of placing the order and can be changed anytime up till activation of the new phone?
Yes. After placing the order and while it is waiting to be processed, you have the options to log into you account to update all of those information, even change wireless plan, method of future monthly payment, shipping address, even cancel your order.
What matters is the correct information at the time of activation!

All depends on how you use your phone...
Agree, all depends on individual usage! Here are the main advantage for S23+ for the $200/66% premium :

- Larger screens
- 15-20% more longer battery life
- 512GB vs 256GB (both with latest UFX 4.0 speed)

It says the same thing on my s22 i bought a few months ago. I used a google voice port in. They just did a low effort copy and paste. I wouldn't be concerned.

It's unlocked and has dual SIM capability. Just put your Verizon SIM in it but don't make any changes to the Fi service until 120 days is up. I did that with my Pixel 7 Pro. Am using both Verizon and Fi in it simultaneously.
Wait, you mean to tell me I can put my Google Fi sim and my Metro sim when I get the phone and as long as I don't make any changes to my Fi service, it will be okay for the 120 days thing?
