Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Also, can one member order all the phones?
Yes. When you invite someone to your plan, it asks if you want to purchase a phone.

Important note: make sure the phone gets activated with their account, not yours lol. I screwed that one up. Thankfully i was able to contact them and it got fixed.

I don't use multi-member account myself, but I know that each member of a group plan has his/her own Google account, and each can order one discounted S23. If you don't already have a group plan and are thinking about asking strangers to join your group, be aware that you're responsible for paying the monthly group plan cost.
Thanks for the info! I have existing group plan. But not sure if one person can order all three phone or if each member needs to order separately

So, looks like if someone purchased this on primary account Gmail A, but not using Gmail A GV, but porting in GV from Gmail B, then he must pay $3? What would be the process for it?
I have never had to pay to use my GV numbers with my orders, because the GV number belongs to the account that ordered the phone. A few people in the s22 thread said they had to pay $3, I asked them and they said the GV number they ported in belongs to a different account. I don't know the details of when the $3 was due and how it was collected.

Me too, just trying to figure out how much time I have to get rid of them. I'm keeping a couple but have several extra to do something with. I do have a couple of XRs I got new from TracFone and going to keep those for the kids at this point. Crazy that they are essentially worthless. With AAL points at 500 the gravy train is over. I still have 6 unactivated phones to do something with.
whats AAL points?

Another question. I don't know how esims work. But, Tello offers esims instantly for $0, but charges $2 for physical Sim. (Lowest plan $6 just to get a number) So, here is a scenario, if GV doesn't work for the promo somehow, can you then go ahead and buy esim/new number on tells instantly (?), and activate this device S23 with tells on esim without the wait, then wait for 24 hours for the system to update the new nu.ber with the tells plan, and then use fi process to port in easily? Does fi send a physical Sim with this set? hpHam?

You can cancel on the 121st day or later without losing your promo. You need to wait until the Billing-->Fi Savings screen show you've completed the required days and the promo got moved from In Progress to Earned. See attachments below.

Usually, the 1st billing period starts 2 days after the phone was activated, and the following bills are on the same Day of the Month. So, after 4 months and some months having 31 days, the 121st day usually ends up a few days before the 5th billing period starts (we get short-changed with Feb having only 28 days). So you can cancel on the 121st day without paying the 5th bill.

What if both Gmail A and Gmail B are linked and both GV are linked to the same real phone number? Do they still require $3 "unlock" since Gmail A account bringing Gmail B GV on verified one phone number?
It doesn't matter what the real number is. If the google accounts don't match, you'll have to unlock it for $3.

Log into google voice. Go to settings. Click unlock.

This thread is everything horrible and awesome about Slickdeals...nothing like a new flagship phone to bring it all out.

So if you use a gv from the same account, no 3 dollar charge?
