Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Do you have to buy the phone or can you take advantage of the Google financing offer and still be able to use it with another carrier when I receive it? I know most carriers lock the phone until it's paid off when financed.

Going that route, you don't have to worry about porting in. When you activate the BB Fi SIM, you can choose to get assigned a new number. After 48 hrs, order the S23 as an existing member. When you activate the S23, service and billing with be transferred from the BB SIM to the S23. Do NOT physically swap the SIMs.

Or, get a credit card that has cell phone insurance built in. There are a couple that have no annual fee. Chase freedom flex, for one.
Also, Samsclub credit card covers phones as long as you use it for phones monthly bill.

If I open a multi line Fi account (4 members), will all lines be able to use referral credit or only 1 line?

I am interested why many users don't just move their numbers over and use Fi for the 4 months instead of sticking the FI sim in a drawer. With taxes, for 35 GB of data, my bill is $55 a month. Paying for the lowest plan at $20 something a month for 4 months and also another phone service doesn't seem like a 'slick deal' Some reasons I can understand though- I would be interested to hear other reasons why.

1. Paranoid about losing number during port process
2. Stuck with bill credits with another provider.
3. You may use way more than 50GB a month.
4. T-mobile/Us Cellular service not good in your home area.
5. Customer service isn't great.

Some advantages of FI -

Great for international travel. Also the $65 plan includes YouTube Premium for a year. Also, for the new phone, the contract is only 4 months, so I can bounce afterwards.

Myself, moved over to FI about 5 months ago to get the s22+ for $399. I did get $625 for trading in a s21, so I haven't paid a bill yet since I moved over. I was going to likely move to another MVNO but now with this promotion, I might as well stick around and get another new phone and keep my s22+ for better trade ins later or just sell it.

TLDR - Fi isn't that bad as a provider and it might be 'slicker' just to move over for the 4 months.

Not necessarily. I was chatting with T-Mobile earlier today. They have an add-on called plus up whose price is $15 per month.

This is from the T-Mobile rep early today... So the benefit for those with multiple lines on their plan, you only need to plus up the lines in order to capitalize on the cheap ultra price. Whereas magenta Max applies to all lines on the plan.

Also in my case, we have S21 5G phones... And they're giving us an $1000 trade-in value.

So for T-Mobile, if you do the plus up, then it's a $200 phone that cost $10 and change per month times 24 months. Of course there's a $15 per month for 24 months for the plus-up.

So for Galaxy S21 example, they'll give $57 up front immediate credit. And then you're paying $600 over the course of 2 years for the phone ($10 in change for the physical phone, and the $15 upcharge on the plan).

Still not a bad deal.

Google Fi is a better deal because you're buying a $600 phone and after the trade-in value on an S21 for example then the Google Fi offer is really a $330 phone.

"These are the features you may need to add for you to take advantage the $1000 credit offer

PlusUp add-on provides customers with 20GB of high-speed mobile hotspot, HD video, 2x international roaming speeds, plus unlimited Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi, Name ID and Voicemail to text for voice lines. 20GB PlusUp for Magenta plans $15"
That $15 per month option won't work for people like me with One Plus Promo.

Because if we add that we probably can't get One Plus Promo back on that specific line.

Plus adding this means an extra $360 paid over 2 years.

I am doing the deal for an Ultra and after trading in an iPhone 11 and selling my S22 separately I am going to pay less than $300 for the Ultra.

Until I see an explicit warning that a GV number is not eligible for port-in, I'll continue using GV for my deals. I don't want to tell others what to do and get blamed if their deals fail.

I'll say this about support, not knowing anything about the Google Fi support or how it can pass the T-Mobile support.

I've had T-Mobile since 2013 when they were the first carrier to drop contracts and just give you everything at one simple price.

But T-Mobile support has gone downhill. I don't like calling and so I use that chat feature. Sometimes I'll request service of a representative and literally will wait 20 to 30 minutes for someone to connect to the chat.

And I'm sure they're handling multiple people at once. Because they'll ask a question, all reply with a question, and they won't read my reply for several minutes.

I have no problems with the network. But T-Mobile support is not good as it once was... Since it takes so long to resolve issues with the question and answers

Nice thing about Cream is the polished color frame should hide any nicks or chips better than the other colors since the frame is made of aluminum.

Did any previous, similar Fi deal ever had the phones go out of stock? And if so were they restocked?
