Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I live in Kansas, which taxes everything (grocery, houses, vehicles, pets, etc.). Here, if you buy an item for $10 and have a coupon for $1 off, they will apply sales tax (9.15%) on $10, then deduct $1 from the total price. Worse yet, if you buy a car at a dealership for say $30K and trade in a car for $10K, they will charge sales tax on $30K ($2745 in sales tax) before applying $10K trade-in credit to the total. What a rip-off.

With my Fi $20 Flexible plan (no data used), taxes & fees on it are $6.86/month.
Yeah, I heard some states don't have a tax credit for trade-ins (California), which can get wildly if you freuqently trade-in your vehicle.

Thanks for the insight on Kansas, but I did some digging myself just to confirm what you said. It seems like sale taxes applies only to the amount actually paid. The only exception is delivery and handling fees or when promotion is offered through different retailers (for example Groupon selling a restaurant coupon for a meal)

Please see Opinion Letter O-2012-004 "Kansas REtailers' Sales Tax"

Here is a snippet from that letter
"When a retailer discounts the selling price of goods, sales tax is charged on the amount actually paid by the customer. In Kansas, delivery charges are part of the "sales or selling price" and, when charged on a discounted sale, are added to the discounted price to determine the tax base for the sale and delivery of the goods K.S.A. 79-3602(ll). K.A.R. 92-19-46 provides:"

Good points. I'm hearing better battery life compared to S21U.

Btw, do you find much use for the s-pen? I thought (perhaps mistakenly) it's mostly gimmick
I have an S22U and use the S-Pen more than I thought I would, probably most often when I'm trying to jot down notes from a meeting or whatever... I do wish the gestures would work in other non-Samsung apps (like Chrome for browsing).

I also have a Samsung tablet, and almost exclusively use the Samsung Web Browser, specifically for the gestures capability (scrolling up/down pages, go back, reload, etc).

Yeah, thats the cheaper option more commonly thrown around in the thread

Do you know if tello supports esim on a pixel 4a 5g.
Not 100% sure, but esim being industry standard I think as long as the phone has esim capability it should work on tello.

I just checked Pixel 7 IMEI an tello and tello said it's compatible. You can check your IMEI on Tello web site.

Better and more brighter display.
Builtin spen.
Spen is more responsive which helps more natural writing.
Better cameras.
Longer software support
Faster cpu.

At around a net cost of $200-300 with this deal its worth it. Anything higher is not worth it.
Do you think going from 16gb of RAM on the S21 Ultra to 12gb of RAM on the S23 Ultra will make a big difference?

Doubt you will notice unless you normally use memory intensive applications. 12gb is probably the sweet spot for phones. Normal desktop PC usage hardly even uses 16gb.

Youll get an email when it ships out. The one in your account is estimated and subject to being pushed back
Yes am aware. Asking whether anyone else is getting ship dates. Some folks ordering from Samsung have reported getting 2/13 expected arrival dates.

Can folks post when they actually do get their orders shipped? Curious when this actually happens.

Why not tello esim, $6 is the cheapest plan:

https://tello.com/buy/esim
My purpose for this is bit different. I need to port out from TMo, stay on Visible for a week or two and then port back to TMo (diff acct). For this purchase here, I am planning on using TING. $1 sim from BestBuy with $30 credit. Don't feel like risking GV route. Thanks. I assume you didn't go the Fi route via BestBuy SIM purchase.

You need to throw the IMEI on the compatibility web page.

Here is a snippet from that letter
"When a retailer discounts the selling price of goods, sales tax is charged on the amount actually paid by the customer..."
I think "When a retailer discounts the selling price of goods" means when the merchant is selling the item at a discount, for example: 10% off a 12-pack of Pepsi. So, if the regular price of a 12-pk of Pepsi is $4, then it's $3.60 during the sale, and sales tax is applied to $3.60. But if a 12-pk of Pepsi is selling for $4 and I have a coupon for $1 off, they will charge sales tax on $4 (for a total of $4.37 at 9.15% sales tax), then deduct $1 from the total because they treat the coupon as a form of payment/credit .

I don't use coupon often so I don't have a recent receipt with a coupon applied. Next time I do, I will take a picture of it.

Could someone please tag me if they see the ultra come back in stock? I seem to keep missing the restocks, I'm refreshing every 10-30mins when I can.
