Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Yep. Trade in value for iPhone11 was $310 yesterday, $85 now. Was going to place an order tomorrow after I get my hand on some iPhone11, too late now. At least I had one order for a base S23 submitted on 2/2 with an i11 trade-in for $310.

FWIW I haven't seen this posted but there is another discount that can be added that makes this deal even sweeter. The Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card has an introductory offer of a one-time $200 cash bonus after you spend $500 on purchases within 3 months from account opening. Which makes this deal $400. Obviously you have to have excellent credit and not already have this credit card. They give a virtual card number upon approval that can be used immediately.

Edit: As pointed out by hpham_53: If you trade-in and get a refund from Fi to your card it might reduce the amount you have spent and gets your $200 CapOne bonus delayed or clawed back.
While you're right, that's just a standard credit card promotion (but yes, a fairly good one, and I have a Quicksilver myself). You can do it regardless of this deal and fulfill it with other purchases, or choose an entirely different card according to preference. In general, when buying technology or warrantied products, I recommend buying products with a credit card that includes extended warranty. In this case, you can extend the 1-Year manufacturer warranty to 2-Years with most cards that have the perk.

Not sure of your intention with your reply. Whether it's a standard promotion or not it's an introductory offer to someone who doesn't have the card. Who cares if you can do it regardless of this offer or not? I posted this because it WILL WORK with this purchase. Show me another card right now that has $200 back on a purchase of $500. Everything I see is a least $1000 purchase. Also my research shows me that this card will extend the manufacturer's warranty.

Quicksilver does not have any form of warranty extension. The point is that there's not much of a benefit in using that specific introductory offer for this specific deal. There are better cards out there for buying technology. A lot of people also don't realize what useful perks their cards have, so I want to point that out. Among other options, a good number of VISA cards include 1-Year warranty extension.

And evidently, choosing that card isn't for everyone. You can endlessly sign-up for more cards to take advantage of offers, but that may not be optimal for your credit. I personally have a Quicksilver, and it is a nice card with reasonable perks. I think it's a solid offer and your post was useful, but you don't need to use this deal to fulfill those purchase requirements. I'd recommend wracking up purchases for items/services that do not have warranties, instead.

As an additional side note in case folks find it helpful, some credit cards include accident protection coverage for your phone when you pay your postpaid phone bill with them. That applies here for the Simply Unlimited / Unlimited Plus plans on Google Fi.

Edit: I take it back, the Quicksilver should have warranty extension. I'm smoking crack.

With Fi just drastically reduced the trade-in values of many phones, the number of people interested in this deal will drop significantly. When Fi restocks, it'll be much easier for you to get one.

Afraid potential issue with Tracfone port, I got a Fi SIM kit from Best Buy on Friday, joined Fi and got a new number, waited over 48 hours (got first Fi bill), and placed an order for S23 at 2:10pm today. Fortunately the iPhone 11 trade-in was still $310 (shows $310 in account. hope this means I locked in on the $310 value with a brand new 11 I will be sending in).

So like I said, a great way to get an extra $200 off the price of the phone and have an extended warranty.

If your order shows $310 TIV for the i11 then it's locked in. If you ordered the S23 as an existing Fi member, when you activate the S23 service will be transferred from the BB SIM to the S23. Why is a port-in from TF involved?

I just chatted with a Google "agent" (or bot for all I know), and it said the s23 ultra WILL be back in stock for the promotion and to keep checking the website. If you see this and it helps you, please reply to this comment as soon as you if you see it's available so I can grab one as well, us SDers have to have each other's back 😉😆🙏🤞

Why not tello esim, $6 is the cheapest plan:

Hello mobile is only $5 all inclusive, free sim too. Second month is free, so if delivery date gets pushed back should be covered. Service with Hello does not start until received sim and then activate.
