Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

It seems like nobody wants to keep Google Fi after the 120 days? Why? Is the quality of service poor?

I know I tried Fi years ago and too many calls were dropped or the data speed was rotten. I would have guessed things improved.
Im sure a lot just want an upgrade to their current phone that doesnt require a $70+ monthly plan(basically would double cost for me, and technically make phone cost ~840 on top of their savings). Half off a top of the line phone plus added cost of basically 1 month, that the big companies' offers require, is a pretty good draw. Not enough to keep people around, but a nice trade off.

Anyone that qualifies for the other big deals would do so(like att and their 1000 credit for almost any samsung phone, as long as it turns on), and have no need to change. Doing the 4 lines on fi for 40 each would cost us more but be a bit better(but not paying for another cost of a line better), and the 20 each would slight downgrade to what we currently have.

I've had Fi for years, and it's fine. I'm only getting this deal because my pixel is dying.

People are just deal-hunters here, which makes them into vagabonds.

That's no longer true. Fi recently added eSIM support on many Samsung phones, including the S23 and S22 series.
I am not sure if it's true. I have been trying to activate an e-sim on my S22 ultra to no avail. The esim works fine on my iphone but not on the S22 ultra. Other esims work fine on my S22 Ultra. They may say that it's supported but it's still not working.

I will keep Fi after the promo ends but esim not working is a deal breaker for me. My work phone is a physical sim so I need Fi to be esim to be able to carry a single phone.

Fi added esim support to Samsung phones starting from s23 series. Please see news: Google Fi-nally enables eSIM support for Samsung Galaxy devices https://www.xda-developers.com/go...alaxy-s23/

A quick 5 sec browse on GoogleFi subreddit [reddit.com] would show you that many people have already switched their Samsung devices to eSIM with tips on how to get it done if you are having trouble.

Fi works fine for me in northern California. Price is decent for unlimited. There's a few dead zones ( but all cell companies don't work in said spots) but it's definitely better then ATT. Haven't noticed any slow down in speeds or dropped calls and I'm on my phone all day.

Does that make us "bad"? The name of the site is Slickdeals, isn't it?

Do you know if the S21U would support Fi eSIM too?

Its not bad at all. There's just cheaper options
I don't like their pricing but one good thing about Fi is, high-speed international data (when travelling outside the US). Don't need to do anything extra or buy any travel pass - it's just automatic and part of the same data usage as within the US.

Does any other carrier offer the same for cheaper?

T-mobile works similair to Fi in that regard, BUT their default international data speed is only 2G - so Fi is clearly better in that aspect.

Yes as long as you're running One UI 5.0 or newer.
