Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Will a ting number work for porting?
Yes, as long as you have the Ting account # and its PIN.

The trade in value has gone down significantly.
This will likely ship with an eSIM instead of physical sim, which means it cannot be gifted.
No longer looks like a deal unfortunately. Will have to see if Samsung will raise their trade in value.

Why wait 4 months?

If it can be sold in the first month in a local sale, you can make some money (about $75 - $100).
That's a huge risk to take. If that person activates it on fi before the 120 days, you're getting charged back the $600.

Hmm in case someone's watching this who did it before, once you've hit the 120 days, when is it safe to cancel? I just went through this on a galaxy fold 4, and it now has the checkmark next to the 120 days - the bill closes in 3 days. Should I wait till after the 16th? Thanks! Smilie

If it's moved over to the earned category, you can cancel service.

Yea, it's in the earned category. Thanks for pointing that out! Ahh but I still feel insecure. I think I'll wait till the 16th. Not like I'm going to miss a few bucks to make sure I don't get charged lol.

I plan to get the S23 Ultra and port my existing T-mobile number to Fi. But I have a 30-day international trip coming in mid-March to mid-April which I cannot avoid. I don't intend to remove Fi SIM from the new S23 Ultra and do intend to use it abroad as well (using their Unlimited Plus or whatever plan they have for that 1 month). But the phone will be switched off for 2 days (1 day travel each way) -is that okay?

Will Fi charge me the $600 back for this 30-day international trip by any chance?

What precautions do I need to consider to avoid being charged back for the discount?

I'm a original Verizon user and I'm looking to buy the s23 ultra. After activating the fi service within 30 days of the arrival of s23 and confirming that calls are normally made, can I remove the SIM card and insert a Verizon SIM card to use it? After 4 months fi wants to remove the number. Is my understanding correct?

Why would google charge you if you turn your phone off? The answer is no, you'll be fine.

This has been answered countless times. Yes, you can remove the Fi sim and pop your Verizon one in and have no issue.

Once you have completed the required terms and the promo was moved from Fi Savings -->In Progress to Earned, it's safe to cancel. I have done it many times.

Does anyone know if the S23(base) goes back in stock? I only see the S23U goes in and out of stock(right now it's still available) but not the S23.
