Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Why listen to some random people on internet when you can READ the official terms???
New customer terms [google.com]
Existing customer terms [google.com]
Why read the terms when you will spoon feed them?

Is it worth to trade in iphone XR for $111?

Depends on:
Locked/Unlocked
Condition: Excellent/Good/Fair
Your experience in selling (craigslist, Swappa, Ebay..)
Your spare time (needed to sell)

I too am curious about activating using fi esim? If I'm going to be paying for fi for four months, why not use it (just be careful to turn off data) as esim in phone, put my carrier sim in phone, have both available for the four months?

The problem at SDs is that very few people read or search a thread carefully and they keep on asking the same questions over and over and over again.

These posts are meant to help those, not to engage in arguments with those who read the threads and who are tired of reading the same things.

Over and out!!!!!!!
Idk why you're getting thumbed down for something that most people in this deal post generally agree on.

With news of the S23 series breaking record of pre-ordering in Korea (especially the S23 Ultra), I wonder if Samsung is allocating existing inventory to the Korean home market first and delays shipments to the US.

This has been previously addressed by a few posts.
It applies to a normal Google Fi port, BUT NOT TO THIS SPECIFIC DEAL.
CANNOT do Landlines and Google Voice line ports on this deal, ONLY Voice/Data/Text mobile lines.
See above post.

I mean, I ran my google voice number through Google Fi's own verification and used that. My phone won't be here until March. That's the number I plan on porting over, and the number I am using to do this deal with.

If they really tried to pull a fast one and charge me down the line, I will ship the phone back and do a chargeback through my CC.

All of the initial US inventory is probably already physically in US, I doubt they can change these things (US to Korea) at the last minute (considering logistics like import/trade approvals, shipping, warehousing etc). I am sure they can change for any future inventory.

I can see within US they may reallocate inventory (like from Samsung direct to Fi), hoping they do this and our orders are filled earlier than quoted dates.

Mine was also scheduled for the 17th, now pushed to the 1st/2nd. Looks like production/logistics issues?
How do you see the shipping date? I've gone to the Google Fi app and don't see anything.

If you do a chargeback, be prepared for google to retaliate and cancel your google accounts.

I don't see why that would be the case - the article just says that there's a crapton of pre-orders in Korea (and I imagine there will be a good amount worldwide, including ours in the U). Nothing that indicates that the delays we're facing are because the Korean pre-orders are getting filled first.

Also, I think this is a Google Fi problem. Pre-orders direct from Samsung and through carriers are getting filled and folks are getting their phones already.

So my shipping date moved up a week (from March 6-13 to Feb 28-Mar 6) but I also got notice of 2 packages coming today from Samsung via UPS.

Since I haven't been charged, it can't be the actual phone right? 😁

Probably not. I've never had a galaxy from fi ever come directly from samsung.

Seems to be provider specific in the USA.
While Google Fi is pushing shipment times later, some providers like T-Mobile have shipped early, with most customers Big Grin getting their S23's delivered at the end of last week.

Just double checked reddit and people ordering S23 Ultra's from T-Mobile over the weekend are now getting them in 1 to 3 business days, so they do have plenty in stock, ready to ship.
