Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

No I'm an existing I customers. I was just adding Galaxy 3 LTE using the eSIM to FI. I realized you could do follow the same process if you want to use both FI SIM and a physical carrier SIM at the same time on S23U. For this to work, you would have to activate it using the eSIM, not the physical SIM when you receive the phone.

I cancelled by S22 ultra first and then ordered an S23 ultra. Mine S22U was already shipped to I had to just return it when it arrived. They issued the refund the same day and the FI promotion tracking got removed for S22U next day. People here said they got a cancellation email a day after for S23U when they cancelled it. Hope it helps.

Doesn't the phone come with a SIM card installed? You should be able to just install/run the google FI app and activate

So I placed my first order on Feb 6 for the s23u in cream, Fi restocked other colors on the 7th so I contacted cs and they asked me to place a new order, then cancel the old one once I got a confirmation for the new one. That's exactly what I did, and almost 10 days later, the old (cancelled) device has finally dropped from my device list and my promos are still showing up as in progress (haven't gotten the ribbon about promo error which you mentioned a few pages ago).

On the off-chance something goes wrong in the future, I kept copies of the chat transcripts that have the rep instructing me to place the new order and then cancel as well.

I think it probably the date you ordered and your location (proximity to certain shipping centers). If you did not order on the 1st or 2nd, you probably won't be getting it this month.

Order S23U Green 512 on 2 Feb and people who ordered within the last week claim to already have it. I think geography is playing more of a role than order date. I'm in DC area as a data point.

Yeah, probably location, variant availability, and FIFO. I ordered 2/2 ship to OR for two and ship to MA for another. The OR shipped today.

For some who may be anxious. All three of my orders had estimated delivery 2/23-2/24 on the website yesterday. The shipping email for the s23 green today estimate delivery by 2/19.

I got an email that my Google service is activated. My phone number port is still in process. When I look at billing, it says next billing will be on Feb 18. I'm using the browser and Google Fi app. Will I see something different on my laptop browser?

when I went to Google Fi, billing, savings, it says it's still not activated and the porting is still in process. should I wait before putting my other sim?

I think it takes 24 hours to reflect so you should wait couple of days to be sure.
