Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I managed to get an order in for one at like 10PM last night. I wasn't really planning on buying a new phone, but I only upgrade one every 4-5 years, so I figure this will be a nice upgrade over my current and I won't have to upgrade again for several years.

Hoping this deal reruns but I'm not holding my breath

Had plenty of chances to place an order last night but I just couldn't do it considering how they decrease trade in value of iphone 11 to a measly $85

Sorry if the question is dumb. I bought the phone from a Google account different from what I will use to setup Android on the new phone. Does that matter at all?

My Hello Mobile SIM Cards arrived today, along with my new S23U. I guess my Hello Mobile activation is too fresh in their system because it's not letting me port over. I'll have to give it another go tomorrow.

If you read a few pages back they said you have to contact hello mobile customer service to remove the port lock. Lol

You need to activate the Fi SIM by running the Fi app while logged into the Google account that bought the phone. After that, you can uninstall the Fi app, delete the Google account that bought the phone. Then log into any Google account you want to use.

Just wonder to know why no one mention Ting mobile? It is sold $1 in BestBuy and it has $30 credits
The $30 only kicks in the second month so it's useless.

To SEARCH A THREAD, note:

View the thread as a Forum Thread, NOT just as a Comments thread.
But in Comments thread option there is a small box on the top of the thread: View Forum Thread.
IF it is viewed as a Comments thread there is no Search This Thread option box on top.
IF it is viewed as a Forum Thread there is a Search This Thread option box on top right.

For instance if you search this thread for port in you'll get this:

https://slickdeals.net/newsearch.php?showposts=1&threadid=16418272&q=port+in

The results are listed newer to older

Do as an intelligent search as possible using appropriate terms.
As the old saying goes: Garbage in, Garbage out!
This is part of the problem. The slick deal software doesn't work very well when someone's using mobile pages on their phone.

2023 afterall. Should not be this difficult to search a thread.

I never realized that SD thread search doesn't appear on mobile browser. Most ppl including myself browse the internet on their phones, I would assume the ppl repeating questions are browsing via phone (sometimes), so really it's SDs fault.

I bought the S23 with my regular google account, I will activate FI sim with this account, take out FI sim and save it in a drawer, uninstall FI App and insert my Cricket SIM, now my question, can I still use the same google account, the one I used to buy the Galaxy s23 with my cricket service?

I was trying to get a count of how many have shipped (only Ultras, not the regular S23s). A lot of posts are not mentioning which one they got.

I don't see why not. The reason one needs to run the Fi app while logged into the Google account that bought the phone is that Google account is tied to the Fi account which has the port in info, and the IMEI number (included in the order details). Once the phone has been activated, you can delete the Fi app unless you want to use it to manage your Fi account. I use my computer for that purpose.

Unfortunately, no mobile SD thread search.

Search SD threads on a PC.
