Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

One more reason for me to ask the delivery driver to give me a minute to open the outer box and check. (The 1st reason is to make sure it has a Samsung phone in there instead of a brick).

Right. Online checking the order, it only lists the S/N. However, the outside of the box does not list the Serial number, so I have no way to confirm if they scanned the wrong item, or someone else happened. So I don't want to turn it on at all. I'm more worried about google not believing me, or being pushed back into the queue more than anything.

Fwiw ive been posting every update, about 4 or so times, should show up in my post history. But yeah most in this thread went with the ultra for just 300 more especially since it was the 12gb version. i have seen other base 23s but iirc most are the green and didnt order day 1

You could have taken video when opening the box. Hope Google believes you and exchanges the phone.

Lately I have been video taping when opening boxes for the expensive items.

Few months ago Bestbuy sent me a PIN/Google locked $900 smart phone (bought open box), luckily I took video (from opening box to powering phone). Once I explained, Bestbuy took the phone back (I didn't had to show the video), but having the video made the situation less stressful.

Login to your Fi account, go to Account-->Your Plan-->Device(s). Click on the S23 entry and it'll show the IMEI of the phone in the shipment.
