Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

THANK YOU for this. Just checked and confirmed that the IMEI listed in the account is the same as the phone. This should be easier to clear up and hopefully they can send me a new one right away.

Ordered S23 Ultra Cream color on 2-2-2023. Not shipped yet. No shipping notice yet. Status is the same as when ordered on Feb 2. ETA for delivery of the phone is Feb 23-24, though it has been pushed back a few times.

Hopefully Google will honor the original trade-in value for my old phone and not find some sneaky way to nullify the trade-in value.

Thanks. I thought it only reflected the imei over the phone was activated. But this is useful info

Yeah used market is always weird for androids, more so samsung flagships, androids generally drop like crazy - have you seen pixel prices? Samsung isnt as bad but doesnt hold like apples. I am happy with $600 and doubt it will go higher later on. I would recommend immediately selling if you got a buyer lined up at $600+. If you live in a bigger city definitely have good odds at selling at a decent price. Also can try offerup, swappa.com, sellcell.com...

The automated menu automatically recognized my account, said it detected that a number transfer request was made for my line and if that was the reason that I was calling. I picked the right prompt, it told me that porting would cancel my account and if I still wanted to remove the protection to allow it. I selected that I did, the automated response said it was done and I could hang up. At no point did I have to speak to a human being, so I probably could've done this the night before.

I went to my S23U right afterwards and did the number transfer again, without changing anything (it gives you the option to change the PIN on a failed attempt or to start over; I just picked the change PIN option and didn't actually change it), and about a minute later, the Fi app did a push notification that my number was now active on Fi. I can make calls and texts with the S23U on the Fi network that show the Hello Mobile number.

The Fi Savings tracker still lists the number transfer as incomplete, but I contacted Fi support and they said it was done correctly and satisfies the promo, but it can take 24 hours to update. So for now I'm leaving the Fi SIM in the S23U and still using my old service on my old phone.
Is the google fi physical sim card within the s23 ultra box or is it only esim?

Confirmed I ordered an s23 ultra for a new Google Fi customer. Bought a new number at numberbarn for $7 and was able to activate Google Fi and port in my number. My Google Fi savings tracker is ongoing with 119 days left and I'm able to use my TMobile sim today. Good luck 🤞 all

Just received my ultra cream that was ordered on 2/6.

Can anyone confirm if this is possible?

Thanks for the Amfilm recommendation, I already bought some screen protectors, but they were throw in's on a case I wanted. I never knew about Anfilm's special applicator option. Nice. Sent a Rep your way.

Here's my (so far) pain free adventure.

- Ordered green S23U on Feb 1
- Delivered Feb 16 as expected
- Transferred live account from Simple Mobile on Feb 17
- Showed as transferred on website on Feb 18, clock ticking on promo satisfaction (119 days to go)
- Trade in still showing original $310 for iPhone 11 (dunno why the 11 won the trade-in sweepstakes, but I'm gonna run with it).

Having learned from the Pixel 6A trade-in fiasco, I will again take a full video showing a pristine condition, factory reset iPhone 11, inside the provided packaging, sealed in the provided box, and hoping that the La Vergne, TN processing center does better this time around. But not counting on it...

I got CYA chats with Google Support last time around, and the trade-in did eventually process, but it was a PITA, and I know there was far worse stories out there.

BTW, thanks, big G. Assuming no screw ups (still an assumption at this point), I'll have scored a Pixel 6A and an S23 Ultra (512GB) for $597 out of pocket, and trading an iPhone 7 and 11. And I get to keep the S21 Ultra to kick down to the wife. That's pretty slick...
