Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Incipio sold a case with raised edges to protect the curved screen. Is there a case similar to one for s23U?

Did you activate the Tello account first prior to porting out?

Edit: I just went through the same process, but I activated the Tello account on a separate phone using the esim prior to porting out.
Yeah I thought that was assumed since I mentioned I "powered on" the s23 after activation

Good evening fellow SD peeps, just got the S23U cream this morning. Used google voice that was already assigned to my accounts months ago, the process took seconds to go through. Made test calls in less than two minutes. All is great so far, just have to wait 24hours i guess to see the status in GFi. Btw, after looking at the ring door camera footage, the fedex guy did toss that cell phone box like a frisbee from his truck to my porch. Glad is working...

I received 1 of the 3 phones we ordered. The other two have an estimated ship date of February 28th - March 6th.

Is there any downside to going ahead and activating this one phone now and porting it's number over?

I'm worried if I wait for the others to get here, it'll be pushing it close with the 30 day registration window. So I'd prefer to register this phone now and get started using it.
Thought it was 1 account per account. Did you buy all 3 under one account?

Sort of. I created one account, but then added 4 lines. I had to send an invite to each user of each of those lines. My understanding is I'm the one responsible for the payment since I'm the main user of the account.

This is how people said to do it earlier in this thread, and I chatted with their customer support, who confirmed this would work. It's one per person I guess, and in this case, you're technically adding multiple accounts to the same plan.

I'm wondering about the same thing. A lot of the review sites, which I'm sure are paid, seem to recommend the Dome. I've seen several people repeat this on forums, but the reviews are absolutely horrible on sites like Amazon. I'm also not a big fan of the ones with the different colored spot for the finger print scanner. I don't want a circle in the middle of my screen when I'm watching movies. I really have no idea which direction to go, and the fingerprint scanner being in the screen complicates things.

Yea ,same with me. The ones on Amazon have bad reviews when it comes to the cutout and such.

I discussed with rep over the phone and he said that only one of you will get the promo the rest will pay full price and she quoted this role
For individual plans, limit one per person. For group plans, limit one per group plan member.
So be careful
All I did is to buy each phone from each account

Amazing response! I'm surprised to hear it processes the port out so quickly. I've been out of the mobile game for so long. Thanks again!
how is the process now, any problems at the moment?

You are one of the group plan member, and others are also group plan members. You just cannot buy two phones for a same group member. Forget Fi customer service, different CS will provide you different answers, they are useless, just follow the term.
For my group plan, I got 3 separate Fi saving promotions in my account, one for me, 2 for others.
