Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

I think the counter changes days based on time you activated? Anybody else seeing this? I activated the evening of the 18th but the counter still says 119 days. Hopefully this is true - I will check around the same actual time of activation for changes.

Yeah, I read reddit to see whether changing from single-user to group plan is considered "changing the account" and the answers from users and Fi reps were conflicting.

I'm going to play it safe and stick with a single-user account with the S23. I'm going to sell my remaining two S22's, one Pixel 7, and two iPhone11's to lock in their current prices. When/if Fi has an S23 deal that requires staying only30-60 days, I'll use that money and any remaining Fi credit to buy a 2nd S23.

That's been my experience with several Fi accounts I had. Most were activated around 5PM and that's when their counters are updated. One phone was activated around 10AM and that's when that phone's counter is updated.

Ordered 2/2. My Card got charged a few mins ago guess they finally shipping out my S23U Phantom Black. The estimated shipping date was 2/28-3/2 but has now changed to 2/21-2/22. Excited as I'm upgrading from an iPhone X.

Good luck! Google Fi support is the worst! Hopefully they see the issue and are able to fix it.

Keep in mind, even before porting, you've now "had service" according to their system even before activating. I had terrible time with this last year, where I ordered a phone, and cancel it before it was shipped, but then it wouldn't let me get a new promotion because I already had service recently.

Check the imei on your Fi account and reverse lookup it. So either someone swapped it or Fi sent the wrong one.

I would strongly advise, if possible, to inspect your delivery and request the Fedex/UPS person to wait a couple of mins.. Something along the lines of.. ' I've been reading online a few folks are getting broken devices ' etc etc.. so the delivery person doesn't feel offended that you're checking to see if the device is actually even there Wink

Open the box, verify the seal, check the back of the box for color/capacity ordered and then remove the device from the box and check contents ( physical damage to validate your claim lol )

Of course, all this moot if the package is just been left there by the time you get to it..

I have received my phone. They sent me the correct phone.

I activated using my brand new phone using Fi app. It is activated. I can make and receive call

But I got error message on my phone and it keep popping up "pending activation" . Activate your phone

When I check on my account, go to BILLING --> FI SAVING --> IN PROGRESS --> In step 3 and 4, there is no blue tick

Step 3 is New Fi member activates device within 27 days
Step 4 is Transfer a number to Fi

I already did step 3 and 4 . Why is there no Blue tick? Customer is not helpful.


Do I need to wait 1 day or overnight for Pinging to show blue tick on Step 3 and 4 ?
