Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

My s23+ was out for delivery this Sunday(2/19) morning via Fedex, but it never arrived....they said that they couldn't find the package in the vehicle during delivery attempt and they have opened up a case to look further.

There must be a hole on the floor of that FedEx truck Big Grin

Can I wipe the phone after activating the Google Fi sim card and removing it from the device? or will it nullify the promo?

You can if you didn't activate the Fi phone using its eSIM. Wiping the phone will wipe the eSIM and you'll have to reactivate it, don't know what effect it will have on the countdown.

Are you gonna complain if they actually ship you an S22U ? Big Grin
Good catch laugh out loud

My order is in shipped/awaiting carrier pickup status. S23U shows "No assigned IMEI or MEID".

At what point the IMEI gets updated in the Fi account?

If you and the other posters who have doubts about using GV for this promo want to wait 120 days before admitting that you're wrong, I can wait. Make sure to come back here after 120 days and see if there are any posts from people who got their promo disqualified for using GV to port in.
The problem is if you are wrong people are screwed with a $600 bill
if we are wrong they wasted $10

Again, I'm not pushing/persuading anyone to use GV to port in. I only posted my experience of successfully using GV for port in. People can follow my examples or not, doesn't make any difference to me.I did not make any negative comments when people didn't use GV to port in. My beef is with people who posted warnings of failure with no proof . END OF DISCUSSION.

Just received an email: "Your shipment is delayed, and now delivers Mar 03 - Mar 06. Sorry for the inconvenience. You'll get a confirmation once it ships."
S23 (256GB, Phantom Black) ordered on Feb 6 around 2pm ET.
Received the same email of sorts last night. But the rescheduled date is the same as what has shown in my account for the last week. Ordered 2/10 with original date of 2-15 to 3/1. Since early last week it has shown in my account as 2-27 - 3/3.

Excerpt from my chat with CS:
Quote :
5:32:56 PM SM: and to qualify for the $599 price, it has to be a port-in from a different service? Does Google Voice qualify?
5:34:14 PM Jose: Yes, and stay with the service for 120 days. Yes, Google Voice phone numbers do qualify.
5:36:18 PM SM: you're positive that Voice qualifies? I don't want to find out after 120 days that I didn't qualify
5:36:37 PM Jose: Yes, I am positive.
There are others in this thread who have reported the confirmation from their chats with CS.
I do want to note, I had another GV number which DID NOT qualify for the offer during the walkthrough. However this one did.

If something goes south I have a copy of my chat with CS to show them.

Same with my order. They sent the apology that it was delayed to Feb 22-23 but it had been at those dates for a whole week.

I have no problem admitting when I am wrong. Personally I would not risk $600 just to save up to five dollars.
This. I mean, yeah GV most likely works, but why risk $600 over a few bucks?!

Want us naysayers to say "we were wrong?" OK, I mean, I guess you can have that. Just seems odd to me, but whatever...
