Looking for same advice. I made the "mistake" of porting/activating my existing Fi service without removing the physical Sim. Tried a couple of times to add the Google eSim and activate the Fi service on it with the physical Sim removed and had no luck. At this point, I set a reminder 120 days from now to attempt this once the promo terms are fulfilled.
How are you trying to add the eSIM? There is a google FI page where it will show the QR code to add it. I'm not sure if switching sim will still keep the promo though.

Regarding the $20 referral credit, it said I needed to activate with 30 days of signing up. It considers the "sign up" date as the date I placed my order on Feb 4th even though I'm a new member and can't activate service until I receive the phone order. Current delivery estimate for my order is March 1st-2nd, so it would be cutting it close as I wouldn't be able to activate until then (for the $600 phone promo, it says to activate within 30 days of delivery, so should have no issues for that promo).

However, I just received an email from Google Fi with subject "Don't lose your Google Fi Credit" and it says I'm about to lose the $20 referral credit because I'm not meeting the requirements. When I log in and look at the promo tracker, it shows a yellow exclamation mark and says I didn't activate the device by Dec 19th, which is odd because 30 days from Feb 4th should be March 6th or so (given Feb has 28 days). It seems like I won't be getting the $20 referral credit now? Has anyone else seen such weirdness? Thanks in advance.
Just an update on the referral credit weirdness. I received the phone, followed all instructions, activated on the flex plan, and ported a number over from Tello yesterday. Today, it seems like all the promo statuses have updated. For the phone promo, the first 4 checkboxes are active and now just waiting for the keep active service counter to start counting down. For the referral promo, it actually shows it as earned now (credit to be given in 30 days after first statement), with device activated yesterday with green check mark. The yellow exclamation mark with mention of not activating a device by Dec 19th is gone now so looks like it was just some weird quirk in their system that has since corrected itself.

I googled around and looks like Samsung doesn't support esim with Google Fi yet.
It's supported per this support link. I believe they just recently added the compatibility for Samsung phones.

Yes, that's the process I followed to add the eSim. After I was unsuccessful a couple of times, decided to deal with this 120 days from now to not mess up the promo.

I've seen people say they got it to work. Involves removing the sim card and reinstalling the preinstalled Google Fi app and scanning the QR code.

So you are able to add the eSIM in the SIM manager in the phone but google FI app is not taking it? People in the reddit thread said to uninstall and reinstall for 4-5 times to get it to work.

I activated the line yesterday evening after getting a SIM card from BestBuy (one of the rare case where phone did not include one).

Is this the countdown for the promotion? I should see it going down to 119 etc. each 24 hours?

Sold my 512gb on Facebook marketplace for $720 cash. e bay is roughly a 15 percent commission between PayPal and fees and Swappa is like $40 plus PayPal fees. with both generally you have also pay shipping and insurance. would effectively eat $100 of profit at the end of the day.

With high dollar phones i always prefer to get the cash in hand at a police station parking lot versus potentially dealing with a charge back with online sales later. Phones seem to attract a lot of scammers.

Had a bunch of lowball offers and requests to ship which I declined. Perhaps i could have gotten an extra $50-100 but at some point it's not worth the frustration.

If i couldn't have sold the s22 for roughly the same cost i would have returned the s23 ultra.
So you can activate the Google Fi and just sell it right away? What do I have to know so I don't get charged the promotional discount.

Is it all right if I activate the Hello Mobile sim in the Google Fi unlocked S23U first? Will Fi be able to see if I activate another service on the phone they sent me? After everything arrived, realised that all of my extra phones are carrier locked so I have no way to activate this sim card.

Tried looking through the thread and didn't see anything like this addressed. Just wanna make sure I don't mess with the promo.
Why would you risk that? Just activate it with your current device and take out the sim after you confirm it's activated with a phone call.

If you sell it, I'd ask the buyer to not use Google Fi as to not disrupt the promo discount. I didn't feel comfortable with that so I sold it to a friend I trust for a small discount.

It's difficult to ensure that another FI SIM is not put in that phone if your buyer ends up reselling which would result in $600 charge to your account so you should not sell it until the promo is done.
