Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

How long ago did you activate your S23U? Sometimes the Fi tracking gives that erroneous message. I got that message with one of my S22's that I bought as an existing member, and the phone was still in the sealed box when I got that message. Once I activated the phone, the next day the message disappeared.

When you activated your 23U using the Fi app, did it say your service was on another phone and asked you for the OK to transfer service OK? Did you happen to take a screenshot of that? If you did, that's your proof that you did it correctly. Contact Fi support and ask them to straighten it out.
Yeah I actually recieved that message before I activated my phone. I activated it like 3 hours ago. I just called Google and the rep said everything looked good on their end. But I don't know how much I should count on their word seeing as people mention their reps don't know what they are doing. The rep told me it should be cleared in 24 hours.

This does make me hesitant to swap out my FI sim with my metro sim which is my main service.

Unfortunately I didn't get to screenshot my process. But I just started the phone, installed the Fi app then moved the number from my old Fi phone to this S23U

Give it 24 hrs or at least until about 10AM Central tomorrow. It should straighten itself out.

I am having two issues with my S234 Ultra; hoping someone can help.

1. I copied everything over from my S22 Ultra, but for some reason on my S23 Ultra the Samsung Calendar is active and notifying me (I do not use it as the native calendar) double on everything. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn off notifications. When I go to the app settings, the toggle for turning off notifications is greyed out.

2. I have an issue with my phone handing off from my home WiFi to a data connection. I leave my house and then have no data. I have to toggle Airplane mode, which is annoying. It doesn't happen all of the time, just some.

Any thoughts?

Yep that's what I'll wait for. When do you think is safe to swap my sim out with my main metro line. I am definitely going to wait till my promotion reflects accurately with whats going on. Let's say it clears tomorrow and it shows that it is activated, how long should I wait to do that sim swap?

If your S23 was ever connected to your 5GHz router and Auto Reconnect was selected, then it would switch to the 5GHz router if it dropped from the Wifi6. I have one router (2.4 and 5G) and an extender (2.4 and 5G), so there are 4 connecting points available. If one doesn't work, it goes to the next one.
I must have set it up that way, I just didn't remember doing it. My 2.5/5ghz Router password is easier to remember than my Eero so I must have used that Router initially when setting things up.

If the error message goes away and the counter starts counting down, I think it will be safe to remove the FI SIM and uninstall the Fi app when the counter shows 119 days or less.

Got the S23 U today but my Google Fi promo is showing up as:

A new Fi member activated the device. Activate the device on a current Fi member by Apr 12 to qualify for promo

I had an existing Google Fi account. All I did was move my number from my old phone to the new phone with the sim card that came with the S23U. Why am I getting this message? I am an existing customer with a single line. THis makes no sense.
I have the same error message but my case is different.

I ordered the device with an existing Fi account but activated it by adding a new line and porting in, where the promo terms allow. Contacted CS and they reassured me to contact them again if I somehow got charged for $600.

It probably makes no difference with this promo which was available to both new and existing members. It made a difference with one S22 deal that required only 30 days stay and was available only to existing members.

Can I use different Google account email from the Fi account email to use as the phone playstore account or phone Google account without losing the promo?

Hey! Yes as of 8:15am central, my Fi app now says I have 119 days left. Is it now safe to take out the sim card and put my MetroPCS card in it? If so, do I remove my Google sim card then uninstall the app? Or do I uninstall the app first then pull the sim card? Which way did you do it to not get issues with Google Fi when swapping sims?

At 119 days left, it should be safe to remove the Fi SIM.

I uninstalled the Fi app, then powered off the phone, removed the Fi SIM, put in my Tracfone SIM, powered up the phone and did a reset to get a fresh start. When setting up after the reset, I signed into my main Google account which is not the account that was used to purchase the phone.

If you don't want to reset the phone, I'd uninstall the Fi app first, then power off the phone, swap SIMs, then power up the phone.

Unfortunately my Google Fi account is the same as the main Google account that I use across my phones. Will this cause a problem?
