Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

Yeah I was hoping the promotion terms Google had for the S22 would carry over to the S23 release. Frankly I was shocked that for a short period of time that it did and with a memory upgrade no less. Best $390 I have ever spent after factoring in tax and four months service less referral credit.

I just eared the credit and I paused the service. Could I directly cancel the service later, or do I have to resume the service first before cancelling? Is there any fee for this, i.e, do I get another bill when resuming service just for a moment? Thanks much!

You can cancel service while it's paused. Account-->Your Plan-->scroll down and select Leave Google Fi instead of Resume Service.

I completed my 120 days today. This is what I see today - Stayed active on Fi for 120 days in a row

When can I cancel the service? Tomorrow?

What your screenshot shows is kind of odd. The column heading says "Earned" but the column checklist items are those of "In Progress". I chatted with the rep and they confirmed that my promotion is ended and its safe to cancel the service and I wont be charged any termination fee. I canceled the service while they were waiting on chat.

This is what I see now.

The best proof of successfully completed the deal is having the discount amount shown under the Earned column. Lacking that, I guess the next best thing is a transcript of your chat session in which the rep confirmed that your promotion was completed.

Attached screenshot shows what my Earned tab looks like. If you're accessing Slickdeals site using a mobile device/app, you can't see the attachments. You have to access the site from a computer's browser to see them.

Thanks for that info. I was contacted in May by a management staff of SD and asked for feedback/suggestions. I mentioned that users accessing the site by mobile devices couldn't see the attachments. Tney must've improved the app along with some other recent tweaks (like highlighting one's latest post with a color box, and replacing the post # with a link icon).

I have $20 referral credit that hasn't been used yet, any idea if I'll lose the credit if I cancel now? Could I pause service instead of canceling until the next bill comes in?
