The whole "no DRAM!" thing has gotten very played out. Most people won't need it/notice the difference. Many of the most popular and well rated drives don't have it. Same with the ubiquitous TBW ratings comments. Plenty of studies have shown even 600 TBW is plenty as a baseline and most people will never even hit that. The same studies have shown the majority of drives however well exceed their rated TBW multi fold.
Don't really need dram anymore with these modern controllers. They are being phased out.

You must be an editor constantly transferring large amounts of data requiring over 6000mb/sec of xfer speed. If NVME if what you're fixed on I guess you won't have need of my input on these SATA drives limited to only 3000mb/sec of transfer speeds.

I was putting an DRAM SATA option out there for the non-editors who may favor them and competitive priced drives if they can forego the NVME option.
Maybe you really are from the past?

No need to be an editor to need this format.

For example my laptop only has a NVME slots... no room for a 2.5" ssd.

And my mother board fits NVME (not 2.5" ssd) so if I want to max out my system I need a couple of there too.

So offering a 2.5" SSD as an alternative isn't really a help unless it comes with a sledge hammer to force it to fit in the NVME slot.

SATA maxes at 600 MB, and those drives you referenced cap at 560MB, that's a pretty big difference between the 5000+MB here.

You know what you are right. I misread max speed comparisons for Sata vs Nvme.
600 max for sata vs 7000 mb for nvme. That is more than 10 times xfer speed.

If you were to xfer the whole 2tb of data to another nvme it would take about 285 seconds or 4.8 mins.
Sata to sata for 2tb would be about 55 minutes if my math is correct. Quite the difference.
But unless you a home user that speed wouldn't be necessary imo. But then at these prices why not nvme I guess.

I got this for my budget build after reading a couple of reviews around. It is an excellent SSD without breaking the bank. No regrets!

This is not yours. You need a Gen4 NVMe. This is a Gen3.
The SN770 is, in fact, a Gen4 disk.

Your choices for the PS5 are:

WD_BLACK SN850 (or newer model)
Samsung 980 Pro (or newer model)
Crucial P5 Plus (or newer model)

Some of them come with heatsink included.

Those are the only SSDs so far rated to be compliant with Sony's specs for the PS5.

All these threads lately about SSDs and speeds this and that make me wish some tech channel did a blind test of them. Setup several systems with some of the most popular drives from budget to top tier and have someone use it for starting up, shutting down, launching games, basic copying of files etc. The stuff 95% of people would do. Then see who can actually tell a difference between them. And if they notice a difference, how accurate is it.
