Not a slick deal. LG has a 240hz oled model using gen 3 panel technology available for order now for a similar price but it's 27ish inches so smaller.
If you're interested in a 34" ultra wide a measly 27" isn't gonna cut it lol

You are comparing oranges to apples. People who want 27 inch dont want 34 and vice versa. Some people want a new phone, doesn't mean you can compare iphones to androids even if they are in the same "category".

Not to mention this hz marketing scheme is a joke. Unless you're a pro gamer 240hz isnt even noticeable or matters to 98% of people buying monitors

I think rtings has a section about mac compatibility, IIRC macs just cant do oled for some reason, something about being too shitty lol

While there is a risk of burn-in, QD-OLED is supposed to be more resistent to this effect, and Dell has a three year warranty that includes burn-in.

I've been using this monitor for a week now, and it's truly a beautiful display.

I use primarily for work, and don't notice any text fringing issues. I wouldn't even know that was an issue without having read complaints online.

Monitor wants to do a pixel refresh every 4 hours, but it only takes 4-5 minutes, and you can postpone it till you put the computer to sleep if you want.
Thank you for the feedback on the text issue. That's my main hesitation with OLED (including QD-OLED) monitors.

I returned mine a couple days ago due to the text blurriness. So YMMV. It looks "out of focus" 24/7, dealbreaker for a lot of people. You may be a lucky one like this chap who it doesn't bother though. If you're on the fence, you may as well try it out, and if the text issues bother you just send it back.

This isn't about what monitor is a better value. It's about whether the price for the product in question is a good deal. Which it is.

BUT some key differences between this and the monitor you mentioned
  • LG 27" QHD non-curved vs Dell 34" WQHD curved
  • Both are 1440p
  • LG OLED panel vs Dell QD-OLED panel
  • LG 240hz refresh vs Dell 165hz refresh DP/100hz HDMI
  • LG HDMI 2.1 vs Dell HMDI 2.0
  • LG 2-year warranty vs Dell 3-year warranty
Just depends on what your priorities are, like anything else.

It has very widely documented text issues. Just because you aren't bothered by them doesn't make it not true lol. What a weird viewpoint.

There is absolutely no text issue with the QD-OLED Monitor. I work on this monitor daily and have 20/15 vision .
I also work along side a 32" QLED 120HZ and a 27" LED 165HZ IPS gsync.

In fact the QD-OLED destroys the QLED and LED IPS in color reproduction and text.
I have all my monitors calibrated with the i1display pro
