Not yet, right now this is considered the best gaming monitor money can buy (mainly because of its Samsung made, QD-OLED panel.) However, this is the year of OLED gaming monitors and several OLED monitors are slated for release. (LG, MSI, Samsung) This is a 34 inch inch monitor so obviously its far smaller than 45 inches, Go to RTINGS,com and search for this model number, they posted their review last month.

EDIT: here's the link: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...-aw3423dwf
If you're interested in a 34" ultra wide a measly 27" isn't gonna cut it lol
I have perfect vision and it was like staring at an out of focus picture. It's not arguable man I don't know what you're failing to understand, the sub pixel layout is different than most other monitors and the text is LITERALLY less clear, it's a fact. Enjoy your monitor but man you need more of an open mind.

Beware, according to rtings, this can only do 100Hz at 10-bit. That's a pretty big compromise, in my opinion.
I have the GSYNC version of this monitor and I can do 144Hz at 10-bit.

So is this a 4k monitor? Or 1440p? In terms of figuring out how well my GPU will run on it. Non widescreen 4k will have more pixels right so harder to drive?
no it is not real 4k , get the 42" C2 LG but then you are dealing with less brightness and is not a real computer monitor for desktop use.
You will be able to run consoles on the 42" LG , the DELL QD OLED is not compatible with PS5 i.e.

but in terms of the technology for a computer monitor the Dell QD-OLED surpasses LG 42" TV minus the screen size. I may get the C3 42" in the future or just wait for the next QD-OLED

So in regards to your question your res is 3440x1440 so you will be able to pull more FPS than true 4k. It is 100 x better than 2560x1440 on a 27" which i have right next to me for pc gaming

There is absolutely no text issue with the QD-OLED Monitor. I work on this monitor daily and have 20/15 vision .
I also work along side a 32" QLED 120HZ and a 27" LED 165HZ IPS gsync.

In fact the QD-OLED destroys the QLED and LED IPS in color reproduction and text.
I have all my monitors calibrated with the i1display pro
I have the GSYNC version of this monitor and text fringing is a well-known issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawid...itor_will/
The subpixel layout of QD-OLED needs to be fixed on an OS level by Microsoft. Thankfully, I don't notice the fringing on my panel and it doesn't bother me but some sensitive users are bothered by it.

Awesome response, thank you!

So I have a non gaming monitor a Dell 4k 3221qs. I'm building my rig in a few weeks. Is this Alienware the best oled monitor? I was going to try lg but yeah 42 is a little big for a monitor (plus it's not a real monitor)

I do have 200 statement credit + 10% statement credit from my credit card. So that makes this monitor maybe 700+tax?

you have a LED not QD OLED
it wont matter with PC gaming. QD OLED destroys your LED monitoir in terms of color reproduction/black levels and contrast
Um no, I have the AW3423DW (GSYNC Version of this monitor that costs more) and it's QD-OLED (see attachment). Text-fringing is a known issue with QD-OLED's, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52eiLP3Zy-s

Get the LG C2 42" if you want to hook up consoles. I bought a 65" C1 LG
for that though.

LG 42" would also make a great pinball virtual arcade or arcade cab in the future which is why i would consider it also.

There wont be another better QD OLED anytime soon , maybe CES 2023-24 we will finally get a 32" QD OLED. Samsung is coming out with their own 34" this year so it will be using the same panel but could be tuned better. Nothing beats dell 3 year warranty though

I returned mine a couple days ago due to the text blurriness. So YMMV. It looks "out of focus" 24/7, dealbreaker for a lot of people. You may be a lucky one like this chap who it doesn't bother though. If you're on the fence, you may as well try it out, and if the text issues bother you just send it back.

Have you found a good monitor mainly for text?
I bought the 35" LG from Costco but the text is blurry. I know it's fraction of the price compare to this Smilie

The problem with those monitors is that their resolutions are pretty low- 109dpi if I remember correctly. The reason why Mac monitors look so good is because Apple usually use 4x the resolution to display the desk top. So a 2560x1440 desktop comes from 5120x2880 monitor. The best chance you have is to get a 4k monitor and (if using windows) use a 150% desktop.

Most IPS monitors will be fine since they don't use the weird sub pixel layout the OLED monitors are using. My AW3418DW is completely fine and so is my old S2721DGF TN panel.
