The 5 channel is virtually the same amp as the outlaw 5000x. Which right now the outlaw is listed at $749. The OSD comes with free shipping.

Many speakers ...the Bowers and Wilkins I own for instance....change impedance greatly depending on what range they are playing
There is not a downside to having ample power
Any amp can play louder than its specs, if distortion is ignored.

You've got to be an Emotiva shill or something to that effect.
Thank the spaghetti monster in the sky for not listening to you and others like you. I just hooked up the 5CH XA5180 with an Onkyo RZ50 and JBL Studio 5s all around (590s and 530s) and wow I thought my system sounded good before!! Crazy dynamics, enormous amount of detail and more headroom.
The power DOES make a difference and it's more than substantial.
Anyone on the fence there is no other value for 5 and 7 CH of rock solid, cool to the touch amplification that simply provides the home theater experience you expect. Not only that but for the first time in 30yrs I can put it to pure direct mode for 2 channel listening and smile from ear to ear. One of the best purchases you can make outside of capable subs and room treatment.

never owned a separate amp before and this will be my first. I've always powered my speakers through the AVR's amp. I've probably been missing out on a lot and I thought my current system with Dirac room correction sounded pretty good.

Yessir same here. I have a brand new rc263 as well as the 253s and 263s before I got the JBL Studio line and I didn't know what I was missing. You're in for a night and day treat with the 590s. They sound like a venue's horn setup but geared towards more audiophile detailed sound in an indoor package.
The only difference is I'm using a rbh center. It matches the 590s perfectly.
