28 cents seemed high since I don't use 28 cents worth of herbs per day on average.

How much power does this thing use anyway?

20 watts x 14 hours per day divided by 1,000 x kWh charge (where I live 10 cents) .10 = $0.28 per day.

The stuff you grow, how much does the store sell it? Compare that to your AeroGarden. How much electricity cost to get 1 lb to compare to the store bought? My point is your $0.28 per day won't be able to produce 1 lb, so just trying to get it enough to compare to the store bought.
One way to save is to buy the stuff at the store and collect it's root/seed/etc to grow it with your AeroGarden, that will save you from having to buy seed. But than you have to by fertilizer for it. I guess the seed/pod you buy from AeroGarden already have fertilizer?
