Cheaper through Aerogarden with code "getgrowing10" which makes it $69.95 and you get a choice of colors + choice of seed kit: https://aerogarden.com/todays-deals/harvest.html

I got one of these earlier this year. It's so easy to set up. It's not ready to eat yet, but everything has sprouted and is growing.

I like it so well, I got in on a second pink slim from the aerogarden site on Tuesday.

I got an aerogarden last year and it's great but it came with lettuce seeds instead of the herb seeds it said were included.

FYI, you can plant ANY seeds you want in there. You can get the pods and holders from places like Amazon. You can also get a germination tray that will allow you to sprout dozens of seeds at once.

Does anyone know what is in the "free seed pod kit"? The others are petunias, lettuce & gourmet herbs. I don't see what's included in the free option. Are they empty & you buy your own seeds? Random seeds? My first foray into aerogardens so I don't know what to expect.

Yeah just kind of sucks it didn't come with the seeds advertised on the box. Didn't seem very efficient to spend all that time/electricity growing 2 salads worth of lettuce lol.

Did you contact AeroGarden? They seem pretty good about replacing pods that don't germinate - I'd expect they'd be helpful in this situation, too.

20 watts, little over what 2 led light bulbs use. …cents per day
20 watts x 14 hours per day divided by 1,000 x kWh charge (where I live 10 cents) .10 = $0.28 per day.

We have 3 at my house. 2 will be used for seed starting with the inserts for them. Will make starting the outdoor garden easier to not have to worry about the weather and gives the right amount of light.

Most herbs are simply cheaper to buy at a store. Is there one that makes economic sense to grow yourself?

Just for fun... nerd mode if you want.

The stuff you grow, how much does the store sell it? Compare that to your AeroGarden. How much electricity cost to get 1 lb to compare to the store bought? My point is your $0.28 per day won't be able to produce 1 lb, so just trying to get it enough to compare to the store bought.

One way to save is to buy the stuff at the store and collect it's root/seed/etc to grow it with your AeroGarden, that will save you from having to buy seed. But than you have to by fertilizer for it. I guess the seed/pod you buy from AeroGarden already have fertilizer?

For me it make sense to just grow it outside and let mother nature take care of it. You already pay for your lawn, might as well put it to good use instead of the useless "grass". Peace
