The $50 trick is not working anymore. And for anyone curious what it was, basically this is what it was

Use one tab for the '99 3 month deal. Then open up another tab. Start from the boost Mobile filter out renewed. Find the iPhone XR and pick the $15 month plan and check out. You should have two tabs open, one with the $99 original poster deal and one with the $15 a month plan for $25. Refresh now you can checkout with the phone and plan for $49 total.

Repeat as of 2/10 glitch has been fixed.

Regarding auto-activation / autopay - if you ported in a number, you are probably safe.
If you chose to get a new number, then your service will activate automatically and you will need to chat/call to cancel autopay. (It seems like chat is easier than calling)

I think you can buy same plan ($90 for 3 months or switch to any other plan available for existing customer)

fyi - boostmobile unlocks after 12 months
YMMV, obviously, but I ordered two of these and both are unlocked. I have not yet activated the Boost lines that came with these.

Note that one has a 3rd party battery, as I got the warning, and the other has battery health of 83%. I'm guessing they replace the battery if health is less than 80%.

I don't think there was a color option; both phones I got are black.

I set up both phones on wi-fi before inserting a sim card and checked the sim status in the settings. Then I inserted a non-Boost sim to test. I tested with Cricket and Mint sims and both worked fine.

The bodies of each had minor scuffs and scratches, with the screens in very good condition. Screens also appeared to be original, as the "true tone" option is available on both. Face ID worked fine on both as well.

They came in plain white boxes with a Boost sticker on top and had an OEM usb-a lightning cable with a generic charging brick. (if it's not an OEM cable, it sure looks and feels like one)

$100 is a killer deal for a used, unlocked iPhone Xr, and this one includes 3 months of coverage.
Metro deal requires porting over from another carrier, also need to go to store can't order online, and most stores add extra fees like activation/tax on original price, meanwhile this deal can be ordered online, includes 3 months of service, and you don't need to port

Keep in mind that Fi basically let you an old cracked iPhone (xr, xs, se 2nd gen) straight up for a Pixel 7 last month...

Depends on where you are trading it to. For a new line activation with all three carriers, XR trade-in is eligible for a new base iPhone 14 with bill credits.

We traded in two XRs from Straight Talk to T-Mobile for iPhone 14 during Black Friday last year for upgrades and not new-line activations.

Boost Mobile will put auto pay on. Nowhere under account can turn it off. Either call Boost to cancel/turn off auto pay, or add a new payment method then delete the old.
