Raw cashews contain urushiol, which is in effect the same chemical poison ivy contains. Steaming or roasting neutralizes this, so, the chances of you finding truly "raw" cashews is essentially zero.
I've come across "raw" cashews. They're less cooked and not seasoned. If I understand the process, regular ones are cooked twice, raw ones are cooked once.

Companies really should find an alternative to calling them raw as it leads to confusion.
Good find, thanks and TU!

These actually taste better than Planters to me, with far fewer hard ones and no soft spongy ones out of 3 past orders - unlike my last never again Planters orders which were sadly "spit it out yuck" tasting - and these have far less salt dust & crumb pieces

Wally's Great value branded are a decent alternative, often on sale and usually cheaper than most other brands when in stock, plus they taste similar to these & better than Fisher branded, and unlike Fisher they tend not to be filled with 30% crumbs and salt dust to make weight.

I posted a deal on these a few months back. Not only is the price better than any other cashew deals, these are the very best cashews I've ever eaten.

I would be all over this deal if the cashews were raw. "Roasted" typically means fried in hot oil when it comes to nuts.
Raw cashews contain urushiol, which is in effect the same chemical poison ivy contains. Steaming or roasting neutralizes this, so, the chances of you finding truly "raw" cashews is essentially zero.

I roast raw cashews and almonds the traditional way ... in a convection oven for 15 minutes at about 325 degrees. The nuts are basically inedible until they completely cool off. You've never tasted cashews unless you cook them with air.

Raw cashews are raw, as is uncooked. You have to roast them yourself. You can add any flavoring you want to them if you cook them this way.

Cashews do not naturally have canola/cottonseed/peanut oil in them. That is the oil they are "roasted" in. If you had an allergy to peanuts, and you ate these ... oh boy!
