Not sure how to clarify it any more. As Oregon14 said, do NOT move SIM cards.

Step One: Activate the TCL and click "I want to keep my number." After you finish the all the steps, the TCL will have your current number and service time added to the service that came with the TCL.
Step Two: On a different day, go into your Tracfone account. You will see your current device now listed as inactive. Click activate and "I want to keep my number" and that will move everything back from the TCL to your current device.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. If you move the service by activating with a transfer, that is totally legitimate and not risky. The only potential risky behavior is just taking the SIM from this phone and just sticking it in another device.

It's on the Att whitelist under Alcatel A3 A509DL.

Sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through and potentially risky if service gets cut off.

Most of us have been doing it for years with these cheap phone deals without issues. Did it last week, took just a few minutes online to activate new phone (keeping current number) then moved line back to previous phone next day with an additional yr of service added.

FYI to answer other question about rewards the TF rewards site currently shows 500 pts for adding new line.
How do you keep your old phone number

Can you clarify. How do you keep the same phone since this phone comes with a new phone number. Also, after activating this phone, you take the sim card and put it into your old.

Your info is wrong.
You do NOT switch sims, sim is linked to phone IMEI & VZ has been cutting off some lines when sim is not registered correctly.
Again (it's posted in every TF thread) you activate new phone - choose either to get new number OR choose to keep current number. After you verify balance is correct you can reactivate old phone next day keeping current number if you want & balance will move to old phone.
If you don't know how to do it yourself online have TF support do it for you.

They activate the TCL and during the process select that they want to use an existing phone number.
That I have done.

Not sure how they move back to their other phone.

I'm looking on the app but I don't see it, does anyone know the current add a line bonus? I remember it was 10,000 towards the end of last year and then it went to 7000 in January from what I heard but I'm not sure what it is now that we are in February
Only shows me 5000 points for a new line added now, under my account.

I did this recently. When u are activating, it asks if u want to keep ur number. Choose yes & it will activate this new phone/SIM w ur number. Then, i put the sim back in my good phone. I had to text APN to 611611 to get data working again, but it still works fine. On the website under my account it lists the device as unknown instead of having the correct device w a pic. It's been over 1 month now. Also, i get 5G, even though the crap phone i got definitely wasn't 5G capable.

For an existing tracfone customer, what is the best option to take advantage of rewards?

What do you reactivate old phone. The old phone is still active. How do you get the one year service on the new phone to move to your old sim card in your old phone.

I think I know the answer but is the it 1500 minutes/text/data supposed to last you an entire year or is that a monthly allowance? It just seems like an extremely low amount, right? Like 5MB/day.
