EDIT: Oh, now, I see. I am missing the Target Redcard discount only. I used Chase Freedom so I got my 5% via a different route.
I have one and found I barely used the cellular features over the last 5 years I have had it. Also found that unlike a phone I don't buy new iPads very often. So tethering with hotspot is actually better since the phone changes more often and gets newer cellular technologies with it that I can better leverage by tethering the iPad to it. Of course your phone plan needs to support tethering
