Thanks! Snagged one. Got the V1 for my wife last week but between a bigger top and my heavy computer I was worried about the weight capacity for myself. V2 should work perfectly.

How do you like the monoprice you have? I already had a nice 2 motor desk from amazon with the same weight capacity but I needed one that could go wider so I picked this up.

Unfortunately no experience with it yet I plan to build it and finish the top in the next week or two. The reviews are pretty solid though.

I'm interested in this... Anybody have suggestions on table tops? Ideally 30+ inches deep

Got the V1 last week and I'm pretty happy with it, build quality seems nice. No complaints.

Just FYI this is the 3 tier/stage which is helpful for minimum height, which is what I was looking for and someone who is shorter.

I made my own table top with a cut bamboo plywood (5/8") because I wanted to use my wood working tools and finishes. It was a lot of work and time (especially with the finish), but I enjoyed making it.

HomeDepot has birch plywood (if you want to trim and finish your own) among other types of plywood suitable for a table top. If your not into the extra work, they also have butcherblock surfaces, as well as nice wood tabletops meant for work benches that would work nicely.

IKEA used to have inexpensive solid wood table tops, but have now gone to lighter "honey comb" interior material. Lighter, not as strong as solid wood. And would probably work for most people that don't do more than type and put their coffee cup on a coaster. Cheaper than the solid wood ones from Home Depot. Edit: a reason NOT to recommend them is if you need to put screw holes that are not already in the pre-drilled locations. If you put them someplace else, the surface and honeycomb interior may not be strong enough to hold screws over a longer time. I wonder if there is a technique, such as drilling the holes needed and filling the holes with epoxy, then tapping them again, to reinforce your anchor points?

Edit: here's a couple inexpensive ones that are at lest 30" deep.

These used to be $200 a while back. Not a good deal.

For an extra $180 I decided to get the Fully Jarvis (allows for more weight and better warranty), and got this top from Staples:

https://www.staples.com/hon-mod-t...onfrm::sku

Top should arrive in a couple of days and the frame in the next week, so I cannot comment on the quality. The top weights about 100lbs, so I think it will be pretty solid. Good luck!

That was v1 of the desk, not v2.

Looks like a great option. Thank you for the insight, I wasn't aware of that table top option. I ended up ordering this frame, but then got a little sad when I saw it was on sale a few months ago for $200! Time to find a ~60 x 32 table top now

Edit: Looking at Staples collection, I think I'm really liking the value of this option:

It actually was V2 back in July. Here's the link https://slickdeals.net/f/15878836-monoprice-workstream-dual-motor-adjustable-3-stage-sit-stand-desk-...
Well if you have a time machine that could take you back to july, it would be a good time to buy the desk. For those of us who need a sit stand desk now, this is a better deal than retail.
