Why anyone would consider buying this is beyond my comprehension, it's super expensive for what it provides, and even feeding the soil life aspect is very questionable - no evidence that creating a temporary artificial bloom of bacteria that feeds on toilet sludge is in any way beneficial to plants or the environment.

What is Milorganite made of?
"composed heat-dried microbes that have digested the organic matter in wastewater"
Like any other compost pile for an average gardener who uses chicken, rabbit, cow, horse manure. It's fulfilled an evolution to a biological benefit to the soil.
Why anyone would consider buying this is beyond my comprehension, it's super expensive for what it provides, and even feeding the soil life aspect is very questionable - no evidence that creating a temporary artificial bloom of bacteria that feeds on toilet sludge is in any way beneficial to plants or the environment.
There are much better, let alone cheaper, ways to nourish your lawn

Also, there is the way you apply it. It is very safe. Spills in the lawn are risk free. Over application is not a thing. It is very versatile and safe for someone just learning or as I said, with a low N requirement lawn.
The only downside for me is the Phospate. My lawn doesn't use it. I have a sandy soil type so I am hoping it flushes out like everything else I put down.
