Using a card payment processor at 2.9% you'd be able to cycle $4,000 for $116 in fees - add the $69 card fee and you're at $185 for Companion Pass and 34,000 points, which is a solid deal for 11 months of pass.
I got the Priority card a little over a year ago. I was able to add the card to ApplePay before getting the physical card.
Once the card appears in your accounts in the Chase app
go to the card,
click Show More under Account Services
Click Digital Wallets
I was able to add the card to ApplePay. GPay and Paypal are also offered but I did not try to add those.
Hope this helps someone. It's possible they changed this since I did do it over a year ago.
Have done the CP many times. This looks like an easy way to get it. Too bad I have no desire to fly anymore.

So to be clear here. Q: With this Rapid Rewards credit card after you spend 4k in 90 days, you will have reached 'Companion Pass' status. Which means that every ticket you buy regardless of fare will qualify for a companion pass on each flight purchased (for which you just pay the taxes and fees for the CP), correct?
Ughhh Chase has all of the best rewards cards. Was wondering if anyone knows... So numerous years ago I was irresponsible with a chase checking account (15+ years ago) and let it go negative for quite a while and they wrote it off. I applied for a chase backed Amazon credit card and got denied because of past negative standing with a checking account. My credit now is a little north or 800 and I now make 100k+ a year. It's not on my credit and nothing came back on chexsystems report. Does anyone know if I can contact the bank and pay off this negative balance that I had so long ago to get in good standing with the bank or if I'm just screwed indefinitely? I'd really like to apply for one of these southwest rewards cards.
This card is straight garbage. I spent 55k on the card this year. Gained 100k points. Was only worth about $550 when I went to book flights. Mind you I spent 200 for yearly fees

Sounds too good to be true for $69 bucks a year?
You are exactly right. Once you spend the $4k you should see that your Companion Pass is confirmed on the next billing date.
Storytime!
Back in the day I was churning Southwest credit cards for the points. I was just going through my email and I saw what I thought was an advertisement from Southwest talking about a Companion Pass. Turned out I had earned a Companion Pass and didn't even know it! Not only that but I assumed a Companion Pass was good for a single flight. I had no idea it was good for all flights. What made it even better was I earned the Companion Pass on February which meant I got the perk for the remainer of that year and the next full year. Needless to say me and my wife flew a lot those 2 years.

Yes,
It's not too good to be true! If you like flying Southwest or like to save money, this is the way to go.
anyone have some tips to burn 4k on the card quick?
lots of big gift cards?
i looked at paying my mortgage via plastiq but they don't allow it with Visas which these SW cards are...
My first go to for CC spend is my USAA insurance bill no charge to pay it over time plus no surcharge for CC payment. So I always try to leverage this.
Already tapped this for United Explorer card spend. Looks like I'm going to pay my property tax with SW card (2.19% charge), I can live with that.
I could probably get to 4k in 3 months with regular spend, but I don't want to wait.

yeah over 3 months is easy.
my prop taxes are paid thru my escrow account, so I can't do that either..
gonna need some tricks to get this spend done quick.

Besides the obvious big bills like homeowners insurance and auto insurance.... I wound up pre-paying for things....I pre-paid $1000 toward my Department of Water & Power bill. I pre-paid $1000 toward my gas bill (had to locate the credit card option for that one... finally found it... came with a $1.50 surchage). Pre-paid $550 to AT&T for my internet service. You could also buy a gift card to your local supermarket, as a way of pre-paying for your groceries....

I got in there (thanks for the complete directions) but for the new card it says "It looks like this isn't working right now" for the new card. Did you wait a day or something for it to work? I literally just opened the account hours ago.

1. Try pre-paying your utilities ahead of time. Most utility companies will allow credit card payments with a small fixed fee.
2. Pay/Pre-pay Medical Bills
3. Pay/Pre-Pay Cell Phone / Internet
4. Buy Amazon (or others) gift cards at grocery market with gas rewards and double dip
5. Buy Southwest Gift Cards if you're gonna use it anyway
