FYI, to qualify for ACP, your income has to be 200% or less of the federal poverty guidelines. So for one person, your income has to be $27,180 a year or less if you live in the continental US. Or participate in certain government assistance programs.

not to mention ACP plans are not a new plan. My parents has had free Verizon Fios 100/100 for a long time. They could have also chosen spectrum cable plan as well for free.

What???

I kind of understand the free meals thing if the vast majority of kids are getting it, since it makes logistics easier and kids have sensitive egos, but why free internet?

All school meals in California are free now. So are you saying all California parents are eligible for ACP?

I think so. I'm here trying to figure out what the monthly cost after the free month is.

It sounds like the first month is free regardless because of the trial, with all the programs and credits internet would be free until one of those programs close or expire.

Be careful with Verizon. I did this but decided to stay with the company I already had service with. When I canceled Verizon service I was told I will not be charged and to ship the equipment back. I did all of this and I was still charged for their service and $200 for the equipment. For almost 5 months after the set was canceled before the 30days and the equipment shipped back they finally decided to correct their mistakes. This was a headache and could have went into collections if I wasn't on top of it. Therefore be careful and if doing this have them note everything and note things yourself.

no, it's federally subsidized under the ACP program. if you qualify for ACP, you will receive a virtual voucher that you can sign up/apply to existing internet services, typically worth $30 per month for 12 months before you need to reverify eligibility

Same thing happened with me. I used their prepaid label and to ship the 5G home internet back. They received it and I confirmed on the phone they did and I got bill $200 for non returned equipment fees. It took 5 phones calls over 2 months to get it resolved and credited back. Not worth it.
