I think you are right. With the supply chain shortages, inflation, and Apple production issues at the factories the iPhone deals the last few months have not been great.
The Black Friday deals were meh so I thought I would wait for something better, looks like I should have jumped then.
If you received the gift card you're good. It's a prepaid service so if you want to leave you can either port out or let the month expire if the number is not important.
Do you know if the gift card is like cash or is it to buy on visible.com only?
No,they are not restricted to Visible purchases. They used to offer a Vanilla Mastercard, but they don't anymore.

Does TracFone follow the same unlock as phones activated on Verizon towers? I ask because Simple Mobile is under them and they don't follow the same 60 day unlock.

Thanks for posting about it. After asking I found an old TracFone sale and saw people posting about it working with the lower plan. I have to agree the 11 is a better deal.
I cannot do Mint, Net10 or Unreal Mobile. Unreal mobile needs to close, and after getting bought by Red Pocket, it's gotten worse.
I can tolerate Visible. As long as you put in the effort to chat 20 times, the issue will be resolved. Mint, Net10 or Unreal will not get the issue resolved after 40 chats or calls.
Paying $30*3 months = 90$ to get a 100$ gift card is not not as attractive as it looks, I just need the phone, and since the unlock policy is 60 days it's fine to cancel service right
