Just buy the vouchers, go to the nintendo switch online menu in the eshop, then just press redeem. It'll show you a list you can use the vouchers on, and just use them. Both games you want are on there.

Just a piece of advice, but this late in the cycle it might not be smart to go digital unless you plan on using and keeping your Switch whenever the next console cycle hits for Nintendo. Probably why they are doing this Voucher deal again. Nintendo won't commit to backwards compatibility. They killed the eshop after Wii U and have never let you transfer any digital purchases to other consoles.

They are antiquated and ridiculous when it comes to this and they seem to be willing to stay that way. As recently as November of last year in fact. https://www.gamesradar.com/ninten...-consoles/

Literally all the gameboy and gba games announced today for Switch where available on Wii U through eshop. You could even get Metroid Prime Trilogy, the Wii version through eshop. Did any of that come over to Switch after purchasing them? Nope. So if you Switch dies in the future and you have the next console not real likely you will ever have access to your purchases unless you pick up a used Switch at that point.
I 100% understand what you are talking about. And it's definitely definitely I high chance this happens.
I am hoping they treat the switch in a different manner then previous systems. Since everything will be Arm based on the next system it should easily pay the native switch game. I wish the system works more like the PS4 and PS5 basically everything is the same on the eShop but the next gen games also show when using the new system.
I really think it's important for Nintendo to keep the momentum. Sell us 4k patches for $10 for games like this new Zelda. But there's a really, really good chance that you're correct and Nintendo makes you buy everything again. $70 game no credit towards the new 4k patched one. Now pay $80 lol.

Since everyone on Slickdeals lives in tax-free Oregon, be sure your Switch is up to date with your Oregon zip code. You don't want to pay taxes for some state you AHEM dont live in.

Thumbs up this comment so it gets pinned to the top.

Sadly that's gone away, GS isn't doing that anymore.
You have to purchase the $10 eshop card to get $5 off. Half off is still good. I claimed it this month

NVIDIA: 4090! Ray Tracing! 4K 144FPS!
AMD: 16 Cores! 32 Threads! 7950X!

Nintendo: 384 mhz, 64-bit bus, 720p native and we are still selling copies of BOTW at retail price

Really incredible how good game design easily wins out over sheer eye candy.

Oh yes, please tell us how Nintendo has forgot about the IP of Metroid. The system has a Metroid Prime remake, and Metroid Prime.

Meanwhile the last F-Zero game was released 18.5 years ago, but please keep complaining about Metroid.
That's a lot of whining about somebody whining.

I'm assuming you mean DSi if anything right? I don't recall those transferring but DSi was pretty short in life compared to the DS. As DS came out in 2004 and DSi late 2008 and before end of 2010 DS was basically dead as 3DS was announced and then released March 2011.

I wish octopath traveler 2 was on the list of redeemable games with the Voucher...kind of a weird omission.

I wholeheartedly agree. Nintendo has proven themselves to be untrustworthy with digital content. They treat it like buying a physical game cart. Which is fine in some ways but as demonstrated time and time again they do not transfer to the next gen console. So what happens when they shut down the shop and turn off all their servers? Then it's up to your switch to keep trucking because when it dies there won't be a way to play any of those games you bought. But I don't know. Maybe with this generation's game updates and downloadable content it's a moot point and even physical carts won't work in a switch down the road without access to the servers? I really hope they'll change their policies but they've proven time and time again that they'll choose the more consumer unfriendly model and would rather sell you the game again on a new platform then let you play your already purchased digital content. Caveat emptor.

You should do what I'm doing and just wait. The voucher is good for one year from purchase date (in my case today)
Or better still, hold off on buying the voucher until TOTK actually releases then you have a year from May to use the second voucher instead of a year from today. I suppose anyone who plays a lot will have no problem using their second voucher in a year, but I wish I had waited to buy mine in case there's something good coming out again next spring (I'm not super big on Pikmin personally)
