3 Ratchets (I have the Husky 3/8 drive and I like it)
97 Sockets and extensions (91 sockets and 6 extensions)
10 Wrenches
186 Other tools and Specialty sockets.
The 186 Other tools and Specialty sockets consists of 5 sets (64) allen hex keys which seems to have lots of duplicates. Roughly 30 more hex bits and a set of hex bit sockets. About half of the 186 Other tools are various drive forms of hex bits.
EDITED: (Did not change the original post. Just Added this Commentary on getting a thumbs down for a factual and helpful post)
I gave the basic breakdown that I do every time I look at a tool set to cut through the fluff. I didn't say anything negative or post anything false. I think someone is just giving a thumbs down to every post because they hate socket sets? Or maybe there is something else going on...
If someone is going to give a TD for a good post AT LEAST they could reply to why the post is invalid.
This is getting very common across SD. The mods should look into this. It makes people NOT want to contribute and make SD a better community. I personally don't care if I get a hundred TD's, but many do. This small group of negative people are not taking SD in a good direction.
Edit: Not a direct comparison, as the 294 set has ratcheting wrenches in lieu of hex keys. Any ideas on the original price?

Someone can post the MOST helpful comment in the history of the internet and BAM! A thumbs down.
I think two drunken buddies (or a cigar smokin granny and her old man) having the time of their life on a bet to see who can give the most TD's. I'll get smashed for this reply!!! HA HAAA. Timer set...
Edited for follow through: LOL!! That TD didn't take long
By the way, I gave everyone in this thread a THUMBS UP! TAKE THAT!!

I'm hoping to consolidate my tool set into a consistent and complete set that will go into the toolboxes I have and replace the 20 smaller sets I've accumulated over the years… I just don't want to go the route of snap-on and other very high end brands since I'm not a professional (and can't spend that kind of money) but I do want something reliable and with an ironclad warranty so I can work on everything from my yard equipment to my 3/4 ton truck.
Seems like everything I see out there is 400 or so piece sets that often times have none of the larger sizes and a limited assortment of open ended wrenches that don't go small or large

I think you need to head towards Gearwrench sets to avoid the mostly useless bit-chocked sets. Even still I have never seen a set with sockets much bigger than an inch. If you eliminate that requirement you'll find more options and you can add the larger sockets a la carte as needed.
It's been years since I bought mine but I've been happy with my gear wrench tools. I have ratcheting wrenches from Discount Auto that are like 15 years old and are kicking except one I lost in a gravel driveway for a couple months and got rained on.

I gave you a "Thumbs UP" on your reply also! LOL
Why would you want to give my post a TD? I am not being sarcastic. I am curious. Was my factual and helpful post incorrect in some way or was my calling out of the TD epidemic on SD?
ItsMeSilly in post #23 got TWO TD's for simply giving everyone on this thread a Thumbs up! I find this whole thing interesting and silly at the same time.
Me too! 👍
I can't figure out if these people are serious, sarcastic or having a horrible day.
