I've read every single King book. Many of them multiple times. This one I really really struggled to finish. It should be available in most libraries without any hold time.

King's later works aren't that good sadly. He does write well though. But if you want some good King reads grab some of his old prints- Carrie, Salem's Lot, The Shining, The Stand, his short stories. They are good.
The 20th century stuff is his best stuff but 11/22/63, doctor sleep and the Bill Hodges / Holly Gibney books were all great imo

I am not a huge King fan, but do you think this is really his son's book but he put his name on it to help it sell? Also, how do two people write a novel? Take turns with each chapter?
For $2 I'll give it a shot. I have yet to read a Stephen King book I didn't like. I agree that his older stuff is generally better, but it's all good. 11/22/63 is one of his best. Absolutely phenomenal. I've read it 3 times and am thinking about reading it again since it's been a few years. Also, Duma Key is underrated. It's slower paced and probably not for everyone but I really enjoyed it.
I have every King book and have a lot of his First Print stuff. Pet Cemetery and the never talked about Thinner were fantastic! These are just some of the films that were made based on his work!
1976 Carrie
1980 The Shining
1983 Cujo
1983 The Dead Zone
1983 Christine
1984 Firestarter
1985 Silver Bullet
1986 Stand by Me
1987 The Running Man
1990 Misery
1994 The Shawshank Redemption
1996 Thinner
1999 The Green Mile
King went sharply downhill post 2000. He used to be my fav writer and I read his every book until that point.
Could have something to do with his accident in late 90s. He's never been the same since. I was unable to finish a single book of his in the last 20 years.
He's been writing the same random "out there" garbage as every other mediocre modern american writer. Instead of staying true to himself he seemed to had chosen a path of "keeping up with (utterly mediocre) literary Joneses". and instead of leader became a follower. A very bad follower at that.
