Currently, the Legion with a 3070 Ti for $1400 seems like a much better value, but I don't know the particular needs of VR. Waiting til BF is always better, if you can wait.

It sounds like you're really locked in to a laptop tho, so...if you can wait til the holiday perhaps that's the best course of action - it's possible the 4090 won't go down significantly in price, but it's hard for me to imagine it going much higher outside of some new Mobile Crypto craze or disgusting price manipulation; with $6 eggs the number of ppl in the $4000 laptop market may not be what it once was...
