Be advised there is an ongoing Eufy/Anker boycott for false claims related to the security of their cams.

FWIW, I've used a couple of these as outdoor cams as they were under covering that protected them from weather and rain and they were just fine in those scenarios, in case anyone wants to grab these instead of the more expensive outdoor cams and has a similar option as me of mounting them under a patio awning or underside of a driveway roof.

As an update to this, they claim they are patching these issues. They haven't apologized and don't seem particularly reticent about the issue, so caveat emptor if you want to trust them: https://www.theverge.com/23573362...encryption

Agree with poster above… But FYI, they released new firmware and app update last month that broke the timeline feature for these cameras… Now the only way to view motion event clips is via the Events tab, which is annoying and slower. They keep pushing the fix for this further and further out too.

They were great cameras, but the past month has been annoying.

Note that, last I checked, the "Solo" cams like this are completely incompatible with their other home products like Homebase. No way to do any kind of event rules linking their other security products to these, basically a separate ecosystem.

you should also boycott Google since they can track down history from ex-wife to current ones.

i paid about the same on amazon last summer. it's ok without cloud, records to sd card, i can view remotely, but only through the app. sd card is encrypted. I can't remove and view like wyze. also if the camera dies i don't think sd card can be used in another eufy cam, same or different, to view encrypted files.

I never said I was boycotting anything...but I don't use Google either. I swapped all my workflows over due to privacy concerns with them.
